Why is it dumb to acknowledge to track almost picks? I explained in the OP that I became interested in the almost pick after how much airtime and message board time was devoted to talking about McCown's near interceptions.
The truth is that the near int often shows a bad throw that goes unpunished. It is like the grooved fastball that gets hammered foul, its a warning that you got lucky.
Because you can't keep track of both and add them up like Jaws does. How many of those near INTS came before actual INTs? To say he could have 20 is stupid, because if some of those dropped INT had not been dropped, some of the actual INT might not have happened. As for why you track almost INTs, it was dumb when people were doing it to McCown and it still is dumb. To bash "Cutler Homers" and then use one of their dumb rationales is stupid.
