And, you need to have recognition by the Bulls managment that in the current situation, finding the 1 player to get us over the top isn't going to happen, especially with the way our salary cap is hamstringing our team, plus we won't have our All Star back until the following year. And, if you have to break up the core of the team to get that 1 player that may or may not work, then just blow it up and get the proper 2-3 to go with Rose when he's healthy in 2014. Does it really matter if we keep Deng, Boozer (I know, I know) or Noah? While good solid players (I know boozer cough cough), they aren't superstars, they're great puzzle pieces. But, we need another star or 2, then build the puzzle around them.

Perhaps they do realize it. We don't necessarily have to blow up the team to get the guys we need, but it'll take some very shrewd moves to get there. I don't see GarPax pulling it off. We don't really know what they have planned, and are just going off what they're doing this summer. Perhaps they have something bigger planned for 2014 or beyond, who knows? But at this point, all we know is that we're in the dreaded no man's land of the NBA...the point where we don't totally suck, but are too good to get better via the draft and young talent. And yet in spite of our overall success as a team, we still can't attract a free agent here, so we can't even begin to hope we're just gonna pull of a sign and trade for someone.

Couldn't agree more... And I hope they do realize is and try some shrewd maneuvering to get this team over the top.

I thought the Bulls can win it all with their strong bench and team chemistry but the last season and the way the current free agency goes proved me wrong. Gotta admit that First Timer was right on this one.

But which star is still available? Heat have Lebron, Wade and Bosh. Thunder have Durant and Westbrook. Clippers have Paul and Griffin. Nets will prolly have Williams, Johnson and Howard. All of them can score 30 when needed. Who is left for the Bulls who might overslept that movement in the NBA.

I thought about Eric Gordon but the way the draft ended I don't think he will choose just Rose over Rivers and Davis.

Only one left to get might be Kevin Martin.

But at least Boozer and Hamilton would have to go.

Sad thing is Kevin Martin isn't even on the level of all those guys you listed.

Still, you're right. The Bulls' opportunities are dwindling.
