Nets potential starting line-up:

Howard
Reggie Evans
Gerald Wallace
Joe Johnson
Deron Williams

Can you say "best rebounding team ever"

Oh yeah, I forgot about Gerald Wallace.....That means there starting lineup has a Big Four.

Great.

Well we can kiss the hopes of Chicago ever winning a championship while Derrick Rose is playing goodbye unless the Bulls FO pulls off a miracle...but who are we kidding?

Still say screw the Heat. Go Nets. :turrible:

When Howard arrives, will Jay-Z perform at the pre-Championship Rally in BK?

Chicago Bulls=mediocracy for the rest of our lives.

I will NOT enjoy watching everyone else win titles while the Bulls are stuck with the title "baby bulls" forever.......

Just watching BK & Miami have super teams while Chicago has their superstar on the bench for the majority of next season makes me depressed. It just hit me that the Bulls won't even be the #1 competition to Miami every year now like they were supposed to be. Damnit.

They are not 3. They are 4 good players, who fit perfectly.

The best Center in the game, one all star level point guard, one all star level shooting guard for their offense and Howard and Wallace for their defense. If Magic is the #3 team in the East with Howard and a bunch of shitty players, this team will win the championship easily. In terms of talent the Heat may be better. But this team will be built much much better. The Heat has some flaws. This team won't have.

If the Nets acquire Howard like expected, it's definitely going to take a while to build chemistry. I don't see them being amazing from the get go.

I'm starting to think the Nets won't get Howard. They're rumored to be going after some other guys and rumored to wanting to give Lopez an extension. If they do give Lopez an extension, I don't think they'll be able to trade him until Dec. 20th. By then, Howard will surely be out of ORL.

We were only the Heat's #1 competition in the public's eyes the first year. I think even then the Heat weren't as afraid of us and lots of people might've picked OKC over us to be the ones to beat the Heat. I think Miami always considered Boston the bigger threat for whatever reason.

At the same time though, you're right. We're going to be behind two, possibly even three super teams in the East with no real hope of getting to that level. We don't really have a reason to think that our FO will dish out the money for those kinds of moves. We're gonna be like the Dallas Mavericks from a few years ago: good regular season team, can't win jack in the playoffs.

I'm not depressed. Hell, I'm not even worried about it. Three moderately good players on a team don't win championships. Look at the Miami Heat during their run against Dallas in 2011. Didn't do too good eh?

Even Rose-less, and I'm pretty sure we'll have a good back-up PG, the Bulls will be one of the top 3 seeds in the Eastern Conference. Plus, a vengeful Rose before the playoffs? I'm not even worried. Can't wait for post-season!

:obama:

if it wasn't for lebron playing like a deer in the headlights and the heat keeping the lead in game 2, miami wins that series handily

a team with three "modestly good players" do win championships...a lot

I think the only team to win a championship without a legit superstar in recent memory was the Pistons back in 04. Billups, Rip, Prince, and both Wallaces were really good players, but none were stars. You could make the argument that Billups was the star, but that's iffy. They did manage to be a star studded Lakers team, but I highly doubt that's going to happen to us in any sort of similar fashion. Now we have to deal with the Nets (they're going to be good regardless of if they have Howard or not) now along with Miami and possibly NY. We don't even have the same type of quality players that Detroit had either. We have a star, but the supporting cast isn't quite up to the same caliber.

Point is, if we want to have a hope of winning a championship in Rose's lifetime as a Bull, we're going to have to get some significant upgrades to combat the growing trend in the league.

And, you need to have recognition by the Bulls managment that in the current situation, finding the 1 player to get us over the top isn't going to happen, especially with the way our salary cap is hamstringing our team, plus we won't have our All Star back until the following year. And, if you have to break up the core of the team to get that 1 player that may or may not work, then just blow it up and get the proper 2-3 to go with Rose when he's healthy in 2014. Does it really matter if we keep Deng, Boozer (I know, I know) or Noah? While good solid players (I know boozer cough cough), they aren't superstars, they're great puzzle pieces. But, we need another star or 2, then build the puzzle around them.
