I'm pretty sure I did stop, albeit briefly. But whatever, I'm not gonna fight it because it's gonna be my word against the cop's word and I will most likely lose.

But does anyone know what happens now? This is the first time I'm going to court. How much is it gonna cost? Traffic school?

If your record is clean, you can ask to see the movie. That means no fine or record. You could hire a lawyer and pay him to do the same thing you can do yourself. When you go into the court room to check in, ask the bailiff you check in with if a movie is possible..If he says no,(but I doubt it),go out in the hall and find a lawyer and pay him to get you the movie. There are always lawyers hanging around the hallways looking for business

Or if there is no mandatory court appearance checked on the ticket, you can mail the fine in and be done with it..But it will count on your record as a moving violation

Disclaimer...I haven't been down there in years, the system may have changed..I'm giving you the procedure from like 5-7 years ago

Going to court is mandatory.

My record is clean though... So hopefully I won't have anything on my record or whatever.

You should've just offered him a blowie or something.

That sucks though. I think the only time I actually stop at stop signs is if I'm high or have had anything to drink. I never drive while drunk but if I've had a drink or two at dinner, I get very paranoid. So I'll spell "S-T-O-P" at each sign before I go :)

Some shit they make you go to court for. I used to live in Maryland, one time I was driving through Virginia going to Virginia Beach and got pulled over by one of those no nonsense dickhead State Troopers. He runs my ID and all that and comes back with the ticket. So he hands me the ticket and I ask, ''do I have to go to court or can I pay the ticket right meow'', like from Super Troopers the movie. My girlfriend at the time almost pissed herself. The asshole Trooper leans down and puts his face in my window and says, ''No, you can not pay the ticket right meow, you must appear in Court''. Couldn't believe that bastard said meow back to me! We cracked da **** up then rest of the ride.

If I drank a beer like two hours ago I'm like freakin out the entire way home. Like am I swerving? It feels like I'm swerving. Crap everyone probably thinks I'm drunk.

I had to ride home with my drunk uncle once when I was little. The crap will scare the driving while intoxicated right out of you.

Neither. I hardly said anything at all. I was literally a block away from home coming back from work. I just wanted to go to sleep 'cause I have to go back to work right now.

Idk why a cop would waste his time to go to court over someone not stopping completely at a stop sign when no one was around. If I almost hit someone, fine... but c'mon.

What I'm thinking about doing is rescheduling my court date. He obviously scheduled it when it's convenient for him. If I reschedule for a different day and time, he may not show up and I can plead not guilty.

That's how some cops are, man.

Another BS ticket I got was at a state park in Maryland. We were literally the last car in the parking lot, and I drove the wrong way on a one way piece of the parking lot for like 25 feet instead of having to go waaaay the **** around the parking lot which would've been like 3/4 mile because it was a weird set up for a parking lot.

Park Police saw it and gave me a $70 ticket, lol.

I go with the rule that if the sign says STOP, you need to stop. ******* in the country tend to treat signs as an option.
