I would love to see the racism that has taken place in Basketball, Football, and Baseball games...because I guarantee you it kicks the ass of hockey any day of the week. Obviously there are a lot more blacks/elasticities in those sports, but don't act like it is only hockey.

Nobody is suggesting that hockey is the only place that this happens. What you don't see in the year 2011 though, is a banana thrown at a black player in the NBA, NFL, or MLB game.

I never acted like it was only hockey. I was reacting to the situation. It is a very unique one they have going on in Canada. It is a very different type of racist situations would would find in the world of other sports. I never said that hockey has the worst racists but I know exactly what is causing it in that specific instance. No other sport is as dominated by an ethnicity like hockey is, and that is what causes those few racist punks to act out.

Yeah thank you. Now both you clowns can now leave & stay out of the Hawks forum.

If that is what you want, you can do one of three things:

1) Apologize for saying asinine things to me.
2) Stop saying asinine things to me.
3) Ban me.

Rofl. Since this thread has little to do with hockey and more to do with racisim, a thread like this should be open to anyone, but since you obviously have an agenda that has little to do with racisim and more to do with sticking it to hockey fans, get the **** out of here you fucking ***.got.

Take your PC attitude and apply it to social situations where you can actually make a difference. All you are trying to do is illicit reactions from Blackhawks fans. You made your point awhile ago and now you are trolling. Go back to your shitty sport that isn't going to be playing anytime soon.

Since this thread has very little to do with the Blackhawks, why hasn't anybody asked that the thread be moved? That way, it can still be open to anybody and people like Rami can 'get out of your board.'

True that. Then he can make sweeping generalizations about white people in general, instead of Blackhawks fans. It would be interesting, to say the least.

False. I came in this thread because I was upset when I saw it on the homepage and assumed all of you guys would be equally upset by this as me. So I went and vented about it and thought my feelings would be largely reciprocated. Guess I was wrong and expected too much out of some of you. I have no beef with hockey or hockey fans. I have beef with bogots. And juding by your little petty "f-a-g-g-o-t" comment, it seems you just might be one. I don't have to stop posting here, and if you think so then kiss my ass.

I am merely reacting to being attacked on this thread for no justifiable reason. Some of you are more preoccupied with my observations (and that's all they were) than the fact some asshole threw a banana and a black guy. It is a big deal and shouldn't be treated like nothing.

Once again- stop throwing insults at me and I'll leave. I've been nothing but cool with the Blackhawk people ever since I got to this site when it was created.

Well, partly because, to be completely honest here, over the course of my membership here -which is primarily spent in this one section -as hockey is the only sport that actually interests me, that in my careful observation, the majority of people that have ever posted here that even have a clue how to hold an ice hockey stick, let alone have the balance to take a shot with a puck on ice, while skating and have it actually probably go faster than 10 mph -let alone on target or even at a target, let alone knowing how or what position to play is, let alone know what the rules are, let alone actually know diddly-squat about the salary cap is, or that a prospect panning out is a rare thing, not an automatic thing (unless you buy into what trading card sellers want to tell you), ad infinitum...

in a word ----- minimal.

So, in other words, --- what is the difference? :dealwithit: It might as well stay here.

Or I think someone summed it up a few months ago, (paraphrasing) you can probably count the types I listed above on one hand.

__

Reading the above, there was also a trolling aspect to it... ok, well so what, it isn't like that has never happened in here either. I'm sure that I've seen worse, and figured it would basically be a one off. BFD. :D

Merde, but the season needs to start soon... this is the most motivated I have been to write in here - even the Kane at centre thing... whoopee, who cares?

What that fan did is sickening and completely appalling. Nauseating.

Rami, I assume you are being attacked because of this statement:

Hockey fans are generally one of the most disgustingly outwardly racist bastards out there.

It's hockey fans post on this board. Really, did you not really expect a backlash to that statement? You are insulting the hockey fans here by integrating all of them with the shithead who threw a banana. This statement also reflects a beef with hockey fans and not just bigots (as you tried to correct later), which hockey fans are taking exception. Oh, and as for the spirit of your statement, where do motorsports fall?

Racism is over all sports and sports arenas. In the NBA, I remember a couple of decades ago when a particular white player was referred to as the "Great White Hope." In a more recent NBA example, didn't Lebron play the race card for all of the criticism he received for his "Decision." Hell, weren't there some racist undertones between light and dark African Americans, too...like wasn't Grant Hill called an "Uncle Tom" by somebody? I think I remember something to that effect. And Lala Vasquez not long ago.

Here in Chicago there were Cubs players who claimed not only was hate language thrown at them, but also garbage.

I think we can agree that bigots suck and ultimately, these vile behaviors should be dealt with accordingly.

And this whole "territorial" back and forth is asinine.

I called out LeBron and Kobe and all of the bullshit great NBA players have pulled. This is had nothing to do with that.

And that statement was my initial reaction to reading the story and it was rather vague and poorly stated. I went onto say what I meant by that, and said specifically that I was not calling out all hockey fans but the general concept that people with 'white pride' happen to be attracted to hockey because of it's limited racial demographics and said that I've seen this type of behavior from people like that before.

It was about a concept and very specific hockey fans who are not anywhere close to the bulk of hockey fans.

Thank you for taking the time to put in a thoughtful response to me. I appreciate it.

I don't personally care where it goes, just a suggestion to another poster in this thread.

However, I must say I disagree 100% with the part of your post I quoted. It may be true that there aren't a whole lot of posters in this forum who don't have a clue how to hold a hockey stick, or balance on the ice while taking a shot, or be able to skate 10 mph or faster, or what position to play, or the rules, or the salary cap, or that a prospect panning out is a rare thing. Except, this thread isn't about holding a hockey stick, shooting a puck, skating, or knowledge of the intricacies of the game.

This is a thread about a black guy getting a banana thrown at him. Replace hockey with basketball, football, baseball, soccer, golf, swimming, track and field - whatever and you'd probably get the same type of reaction out of Rami and others (myself included possibly).

It does strike me as odd that Rami is talking about a meatball hockey fan, and instead of trying to correct him, he gets, 'Get the **** out of the forum.' Nothing says big tent like that.
