you cannot say he will or will not do something. NO ONE KNOWS! jesus christ.

I'm not saying that we know... but nothing, absolutely nothing leads us to think that he can. Not a damn thing. We can say that it is highly improbable for him to have a high OBP. Sure, it COULD happen, but that would be such a rare circumstance.

Right i sound stupid because i believe a young player can improve over time. Just like a Supposed future star flops.......i cannot predict and no one can. period

What makes you sound stupid is that you have nothing to back that point up with.

It goes both ways

avg players in the minors can be studs in the MLB

Amazing prospects can flop in the MLB

No one can predict which way it can go. that is a fact.

They can, you're right. But we shouldn't expect that. We can't predict, but we can make reasonable assumptions, based on what they have done in the minors. But, as we all know, it's a whole different ball game in the bigs.

I'd rather trade him than expect too much from him. I don't see him becoming an all star kind of player even a beast everyday player.

It's unreasonable to think that he can. He has never had a high OBP. He might be able to by 5 or 10 points, but that's basically nothing.

He's only played 1 season in the bigs, and you are saying because he's never had a high OBP he never will?

Now getting back on topic:

Trade idea:

Cubs get:
BJ Upton
spect

Rays get:
Tyler Colvin
Rafael Dolis
Robinson Chirinos

The Cubs get a leadoff man in Upton and Brett Jackson will take the spot for Colvin. The Rays will take a cheap option in Colvin who has power and only 24. He's major league ready, Dolis could be a good bullpen pitcher and the Rays have a good amount of interest in Chirinos.

Thoughts?

:nelson:

That's what the Rays would be doing to us.

Then with that logic..

Why would we give up all of that to get him?

The Cubs NEED A FUCKIN leadoff man and I think Rudy can help him.
Brett Jackson will take Colvin's spot, Dolis will be a pen pitcher and the Cubs have tons of pitching depth in their minors and Chirinos has not spot on the team. The Cubs also get a spect. He's only 26 too, so still young.

He meant that using that logic, they'd only have to give up 2 of those players, not three.
