“Man he played really well," Lions coach Dan Campbell said of Fields after the game. "Really well. He’s a hell of an athlete. He’s tough. He causes issues.”
I'm holding him to a good qb standard and hoping his potential can take him past what I expect. I will say I forgot about the two timeouts. That doesn't help his case, but I still think he is the last one to blame as he helped us so much in getting up 12 and draining the clock on that drive. It was coaching that gave up when we were in fg position. But yes, it will help if he stops fumbling or turning it over in the last drives.Don’t get me wrong, He played well, but with two timeouts left, there’s still a chance to get to FG range. This is third game this year where Fields had the opportunity to take the Bears down field to tie or take the lead at the end of the game, and he has thrown a pick 6, INT, fumble. If you guys want to hold him to the standards of a franchise “QB” then hold him to those standards, don’t pick and choose when it’s convenient. Stop pampering him.
You're not wrong. I just thought he was still injured and was giving it his all. And he had a lot of tough runs where he got slammed into the ground.I was a very big fan of drafting fields and was very supportive of him and I like him and I really really wish he would be the guy and I hope that he succeeds.
And I do think he will be a decent to good quarterback in the NFL somewhere down the line.
But how low have we set the bar that we consider him “playing his ass off“ with 169 yards passing and one touchdown? That’s a half for most good NFL quarterbacks.
Did the family thing go well?No I didn't finish it had to leave for a family thing,
It did, was much more enjoyable then watching this shit storm of a team, but thanks for askingDid the family thing go well?
This fanbase spent the whole summer hyping Fields and don’t want to let go of their preseason MVP wet dreams. They would rather pamper him than admit they were wrong. They know the Bears will draft a QB with the first pick, but their pride won’t let them think straight. Poles is NOT going to pass up the opportunity to draft a highly touted prospect like myself. He already passed on a QB class who has a rookie in the MVP conversation. Everyone with some objectivity knows that Fields will likely be traded, if the Panthers get the first pick. You're not wrong. I just thought he was still injured and was giving it his all. And he had a lot of tough runs where he got slammed into the ground.
If I had to guess though, I think the Bears are going to draft a QB with one of the high picks and they will trade Fields for whatever they can get.
Are you going to be emotional if Bears keep the him and he continues to progress and become franchise qb1?You're not wrong. I just thought he was still injured and was giving it his all. And he had a lot of tough runs where he got slammed into the ground.

What an honor to have you join the board! This fanbase spent the whole summer hyping Fields and don’t want to let go of their preseason MVP wet dreams. Yeah, I would be happy if the Bears actually got it right. Are you going to be emotional if Bears keep the him and he continues to progress and become franchise qb1?
I think a new coaching staff can bring the best out of him.Coaching staff won't be here. New coaching staff is going to want their own QB. The good thing is if Fields keeps playing well, he is going to continue to raise his trade value. He is bringing back a 1st rd pick.
I think Fields has the potential to be great. He still has a lot of work to do. Can a new coach come in and get better results. Probably. Would I draft a qb to replace Fields? Maybe, depending on the qbs available. I personally don't think williams or maye are, but that's my opinion. I think Penix Jr. can be. But I'm not taking him 1 or 2 strictly due to the knees. I'd take him somewhere in the 1st round, but idk when he would go. Other than that, I'd keep Fields and see if he can continue growing toward his potential. Then draft a qb somewhere, whether it makes sense in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, whenever. Just whenever you can maximize the value of the pick, with the player picked.Yeah, I would be happy if the Bears actually got it right.
They can:
1. Keep him and he sucks
2. Keep him and he turns it around
3. Get rid of him and drafted QB sucks
4. Get rid of him and drafted QB pays off
Just get it right, I don't care how.
CJ Stroud is out here throwing to mid WRs and he’s in the MVP conversation as a rookie. I saw Justin Herbert throw for 4000 yards and nearly 30 TDs in his rookie year, mind you he had Anthony Lynn as a HC. Whilewe are three years in and still have no idea what Fields is. At the end of the day, with all the excuses, maybe it’s just time to accept that he’s just not good enough.I think Fields has the potential to be great. He still has a lot of work to do. Who do you think is the one to change our qb position for the better?
Thanks for your shitty insights! And Getsy did what the meatballs wanted - plenty of designed runs in another loss.
And of course, Fields fumbled the game away.
100% perfect day for us.Honestly today went great.
1: Fields looked good.
2: Coach’s still look to be fired.
3: Great day for the Tankathon.
I agree, the right way to do it.But they don't have to give up that money, yet. 5th yr option and we can surely get a 2025 first round pick with a trade down that could be used to draft a QB the next draft. None of this class including Williams, Maye etc look like a sure thing to me. I'd much rather see the Bears use the draft capital and cap space to continue to build this team. Worst case scenario, you put a rookie in a much better situation vs this Bears Groundhog Day bullshit. Best case you didn't throw the baby out with the bathwater by prematurely ejecting Fields.
Go conservative and crash into the line instead of putting the ball in your best players hands, kind of like the lakers not giving it to Le Bran.I want to ask you guys one question and I'm not taking sides.
Down one score whether it's TD or FG, with two minutes left to play, and Fields gets the ball back
What's the first thing that comes to mind he's going to do?
w/4 turnovers? What drugs you on?Thanks for your shitty insights!
By the way if it wasn't for JF they would have probably lost by 25+ points and never been in the game.
I saw a lot of on target crisp passes yesterday and climbing the pocket.Fields wasn’t the reason the Bears lost this game, but ask yourself:
Knowing Fields limitations, what he can do and what he can’t do, is this really the guy you want your favorite team to hitch their wagon to long-term?
Fields is not a good passer overall. He just isn’t. Can you win with him? Sure, if you surround him with all great guys. But at that point, why not just try for a better QB?
You’re fighting against the grain. You see the talent. You just want it to happen so bad.
But it’s just not going to happen, guys. Make peace with it now, or you’ll be forced into accepting it later.
Yes, that's correct because the Bears maybe get 10 points w/o JF.w/4 turnovers? What drugs you on?
The Lions became the first team with a negative-3 turnover margin and under 20 minutes in time of possession since 1932 to win a game.
the NFL win probability had the Bears at 98.2% when the Lions began their second-t0-last drive with 4:15 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Yes, true. JF in his last 3 full games has a QB ratings of 130+, 125+ and 105 or so.Fields was fine. I actually thought he did way better this game at managing the pocket and moving around in it. He looked a hell of a lot more comfortable back there than he normally does. The offense, for the most part, extended drives.
The Bears turtled and gave the game away at the end. 17 points in the fourth quarter. Prevent defense. Fucking terrible 3 and out that only took 15 seconds off the clock.
