“I think Coach knows I’m going to score,” Lucas said. “With Derrick out there, he’s going to draw a lot of attention. It’s just my job to knock down open shots, so it can take some of the pressure off him."

That is why he is here. I don't think he shoots like that because he is selfish, I think he does it because he has to.
It's a difference man. I don't care about a quote. I'm going by what I see. When he's out there as the primary PG, he constantly chucks away and never gets the ball inside or even tries to pass it. He dribbles the clock out and shoots hail mary shots.

If he shoots in the flow of the offense, then I don't have a problem. But that's not what he's doing. He's not Derrick Rose or Allen Iverson, but don't tell him that. He's part of the reason why the offense stagnates.

And LOL @ him saying his job is to take pressure off of Rose, when CJ is out there and Rose is on the floor, he doesn't see the floor.. Like I said, this dude is out for himself.

You can disagree.

He isn't Rose, we don't need him to be Rose or Watson for that. Lucas....is 'Scalabrinelike' but not at end of games. Lucas Offense>the fact that he's small and the third guy off the bench..when were healthy.
Lucas' offense = overrated.

I agree with alot of this, but our offense is also predicated on the PG dominating the ball. Now with that said, drive & kick & pick n roll are the main sets run. CJ does a very good job at getting everyone involved in these plays. Lucas often focuses on option A, trying to get that to work (which generally eats up the majority of the clock), when the play breaks down, he settles for chucking up a shot. He's also a horrendous pick n roll player partly due to his size, but also due to the fact that he has terrible court vision. About the only thing he can do is score when he has it going.

But thankfully, he's the 3rd PG & not the back-up, about the only silver lining here.

I think Lucas is useless anyways for the most part. He makes me mad with dribbling, bad offense, and bad shot selection. I think Fish would be a better "court general" than Lucas.

Do you mean, "Fisch" :troll:

Meh... I'm indifferent, I guess. His experience and leadership would be nice, but his offensive production his slipped over the last three seasons to the point where he's no longer a serviceable NBA starter. If he was a fifth guard, I guess I wouldn't mind (and we do have an open roster spot), but there's not a chance in Hell I would give him any substantial playing time.

Meh....What da ya know. The hipster is indifferent!

He didn't help shit everybody knew the owners were not going to back off so he with the rest of the NBPA should of just accepted the deal before November.

It was not fishers fault that millionaires were fighting billionaires..he was not a direct reason for the delayed start.

Are you nuts!? Him & Billy Hunter shoulder a significant amount of blame for not only this delayed season, but the state of the new CBA agreement. It was clear since day 1 that the owners simply were not going to budge & were willing to sacrifice games for it. Both sides had been preparing for this for over 2 years! They knew it would end up in court from the get go. Fisher & Hunter ignored the players desire to decertify & sue until it was practically too late. Their communication with players & agents was almost non-existent at critical times during negotiations. And most importantly, they got hosed on major issues they wanted resolved in the new CBA!

I wouldn't mind having him but if we didn't get him I wouldn't mind that either.

I'd stay with Lucas. Derek like stated before is way past his prime, he's accomplished enough, and I don't see him getting anywhere here.
