Fishing!

Did I miss something? What tension? Just having a discussion.

His wife switched him from Pads to Tampons yesterday. Forgive him.

We should really get an IHN fishing trip together. I suggested it last year too. I have access to my old crestliner (sold it to my neighbor), and I'm sure some others around here have a boat.

Could do any number of lakes, South or North. Could make a trip of it and head up to Manitoba for some Lakers, Eyes and Northerns.

Haven't done much river fishing.........

This was the first year for me trying river fishing.

Missed two months with a broken hand but good to go now.

I thought the river would be a good choice because we could pick an area that's somewhat central for whoever wants in.

Busse Woods is another option.

Do you ever need a fishing license like hunting? Are there "open season" type windows for certain types of fish or certain areas? Or is it pretty much open season on all fish all the time?

You need a license to fish anywhere except private lakes/ponds. Certain types of fish require an extra license fee, such as trout and salmon. I don't know if they ever have open seasons where you can fish without a license. I think they may have done that in the past to increase participation so they can ultimately sell more licenses.

You need a license ($13) and that's good for all fish except Salmon/Trout in Lake Michigan.

There's an extra stamp you need for that.

Edit: Bah, Phanchk beat me to it.

Interesting... I assume that's for all fishing then and still applies if you only catch and release? Go Game and Wild life officials lock down on that? I see random people fishing off bridges and stuff I can't imagine they took the time to get licenses?

I've fished the Fox quite a bit. Where have you fished it?

Busse Woods is over-fished.

I know IL and Wisconsin both had promotions this past summer allowing fishing without a license for at least a weekend might have been a 3 day weekend.

Most States DNR folks are real assholes. Especially Wisconsin. They will sit on bridges with Binoculars and scope the people fishing and then come check licenses, amounts of Poles in the water, ect ect. Then fine the living shit out of you.

Hunting is even worse. You shoot the wrong kind of duck out of season, they will take you to Jail. Not all bad though as most sporting folks should read and know the individual States rule. Also as a rule they **** you for out of State Fishing licenses. IL does it as well. I think my Wisconsin Fishing License was 60 bucks last year.

Manitoba yearly fishing license was 80. Montana is 75. You can buy 3day or 7day licenses in many States as well.

Do NOT want to **** with the DNR. They have Federal Jurisdiction. Can do just about anything they want, anywhere. Exception is on Indian Reservation Land", but in those cases the Tribe will anal rape you for hunting/fishing on their land.

My buddy caught a 50 inch Muskey on Marie a few years ago. The Chain has some seriously big Muskey and game fish, but it's still over fished too.

Lake Geneva has great Smalley's, Eye's, and Northerns.

Delevan is good for Bass, Smalleys and Lrge Mouth, some Eyes and Northern.

Door County, just between GB and Lake Michigan is awesome fishing. Moms husband got a 12lb Eye there last year. We used to Charter there every summer and would max out on Koho and Chinooks...

There is alot of awesome fishing within driving distance of Chicago.

Pools number 6-11 are great on the Mississippi at all times of the year other than when the River is high and the fish are all over the place. You name the species and they are in the Mississippi. I fish up there a bunch of times during the year as my Mom lives in Praire.
