There is no way to add a #1 WR without using a 1st round pick, which has a ton of risk involved.

It would be more like a bunch of #2s.

Interesting since you highlighted two guys that profile as number 1s next year (Robinson and Pryor) that were selected in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the draft.

This is exactly why I was not a fan of losing Alshon. Too much risk going into 2017 when you know your main focus is grooming your young QB.

I would have franchised him again. Or negotiated a 1 year deal for more than the Eagles gave. Then maybe he wants to stay then in 2018 since you actually have a QB.

Now, barring the Tanner Gentry ROY campaign, the Bears will have their backs against the wall and have to overpay someone in free agency or roll the dice on another top receiver in the draft.

I think the only way he stays was under the tag. He wanted out.

I would have bitten the bullet and tagged him.

He would have been singing a different tune once he started watching Trubisky.

But worst case scenario, even if he left, the Bears would have been in the same position next year as they will be now.

I would be happy with three solid 1b's, much better than a 1a and a few 2's.

Problem is that it ain't great for morale to have players around that have no interest in the team being succesful. Can't really blame Pace for parting ways.

Hey Windy, if you're looking for a speedy play maker type, check oot Christian Kirk. He's being compared to Odell Beckham jr.

don't worry about it. Its a problem above your pay grade.

The WR plan in this regime is better than it was last week. Wright/Wheaton/Cruz were the most competent WR's we have seen in years at actually knowing their position, running routes, getting separation, and being reliable.

Marshal and Jeffery clearly had elite skill set, but one is not emotionally reliable and the other physically. But the reality is all 3 of those guys are here because they couldn't stay on the field and healthy either.

By the end of the year it will be Trubisky passing to Thompson/Gentry and the survivor of Wheaton/Wright health wise.

There isn't one single fact to support the idea that he did not want to be in Chicago outside of money. When in fact the only statements he made concerning the 2017 season was this....

"I guarantee you we'll win the Super Bowl next year," Jeffery said after Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Vikings, via ESPN.com. "We had a lot of injuries. I don't think a team in the league had as much injuries as us."

Andy Dalton has AJ Green
Carson Palmer has Larry Fitzgerald
David Carr has Amari Cooper
Matt Ryan has Julio Jones

Mitchell Trubiksy has Cameron Meredith???

Get this kid a real weapon. First round or later we need a true number one WR. If there is one WR I want the Bears to trade for is DeAndre Hopkins 5 years and never missed a game. It's unlikly but possible if DeShaun Watson has a bad rookie year. Jadeveon Clowney is going to want a monster contract after 2018 and Texans might not have the money.

Cam could've been the guy if he didn't get injured....we'll have to wait till next years draft to get "the guy"

ND is horrible.
I think we need to bring in numbers, and at this point, I don't really care where they come from, but not drafting a WR would be somewhat odd given their predicament.

I also think people need to understand that need to get MT in rhythm as a passer and have a bunch of high pct. rhythm passes for him. Generally that means some stuff out of the slot into open zones inside and quicker developing plays on the outside where catch radius is important. Also, and I think this isn't a need, but TE routes can be easier.

So while I always want to have someone out there that can back of safeties and take the proverbial top of a defense, I still think we need to obtain a super reliable larger/longer WR who excels 15 yds and in.

Kirk, Sutton, Ridley and Brown are all interesting prospects.

You guys are looking at this all wrong. Fix the QB position. We have 3 TE's 2 RB's 4 avg WR's and a strong run game and Def. Really enough options for a mobile accurate NFL QB to make do. Give me the top 3 WRs in the NFL and Glennon would pass for 40 yards. The real problem is not the WRs. AR would shine with what we got.

He started sunday......and played about 40+ snaps to youngs high teens and mcfats 4

The 2nd olb position is suck a glaring need it's sickening

OLB should be the target with pick#1.

Not only is it a position of need, first rounders have found pretty good success at the position. Looks like that skill is translating wel to the NFL.

I hope all 5 projected good QB's end up with round #1 grades. We may get this years KC or HOU deal.

AZ
NYJ
BAL
SF
LAC
CIN
JAC
MIA
NO
PIT
NYG

All of these teams could be looking for the QB of the future, some Houston-esque and some KC-esque.

Yeah I thought he was trolling us tbh.
Anytime I saw him out on the field last season he looked disinterested.
