Yeah it's a lot to put on the plate of a guy who's barely been a play caller in the NFL and now to expect him to take over head coaching doodies and i'm guessing still calling plays. I mean maybe there's someone he trusts to kinda help with play calling dooies already on this staff but either way it's a lot and this also could end up being the last time he coaches for the Bears if he doesn't get the full time gig because the whole new head coach wants his own people thing and would he take a full time OC spot with us after being our interim head coach for the rest of this season if that's offered to him. I would love that because i'm on record saying give me Vrabel as HC and TB as OC.
It’s worth noting that he was Assistant Head coach before.

LFG!

Happy to see Brown getting a shot to prove himself. Will be interesting to see if there's a noticeable difference in playcalling now that he has more responsibility and that he'll be on the sidelines instead of in the booth. Either way, the Bears needed to find out, one way or another.

why do i always feel bad for these guys when they get canned?
He probably never should’ve been hired in the first place and he certainly should’ve been fired last year. There’s something kinda tragic about him being forced to do this job he sucks at and eating all this shit when he its not his fault the Bears made him an offer he could not refuse.

So Poles succumb to public pressure. He should be fired as well.

As a fan, I agree, but future coaches might remember that and think twice about working for the Bears
If I’m a HC candidate I look at the Bears organization now and think they are slowly shifting in a more positive direction. To me, this firing shows a lot about Warren/Poles pushing for the firing.

They were a national laughing stock.

If this didnt happen on national tv with like 30m watching it could have been swept under the rug. This has been the talk of national media for like the last 24 hours.
Stephen A was all over it this morning, and not in flattering way either

The kept Trestman because the relative success of the Lovie years was pretty recent history at the time. The game’s changed when you’ve only mustered one winning season in the last twelve.

That and I really do believe the stadium stuff played into it. The McCaskeys are in an existential fight for the franchise and they need to win public opinion in a way they did not expect.

Should have been fired before the morning presser.. Bears just cant seem to get anything right
I can see George, Poles, Cunningham and Warren sitting in a room talking about it and making the decision to fire him and a ball boy walking by the room and they ask where Flus is and he lets them know he's doing a press conference about how he's getting the team ready to play San Fran. :cohen1:

Yes, Flus is a raging asshat who needed to go. Especially for sitting on that timeout and terrible time management.

But shouldn't a majority of the blame go to Caleb on that last play?
And if it is, are we gonna fire the rookie too? No. He still is developing. He’ll **** up. But Eberflus has been fucking up. This ain’t his rookie year.

I am actually shocked. Obviously, this is the right move (and should have happened well before this game), but I can't believe the Bears actually did it.

He's my alt.
Your alt would be easy to spot as it would never post anything remotely humorous and it would be all terrible memes and dumb takes. @remydat has dumb takes all the time but you take things to a whole different level

Wait until he becomes HC next year. The dick ripping will be epic.
If he finishes the season on a strong note and beats very competitive teams while managing the team correctly than maybe he deserves a shot at becoming HC.
