So Poles succumb to public pressure. He should be fired as well.
How is that your reaction? Poles and/or Warren finally got the Mcaskeys to do something they've never done. It's a win, a small one, but a win for the front office. It signals things might be changing.

Wait until he becomes HC next year. The dick ripping will be epic.
Sounds like you’re going on record for Brown to be the Head coach already?

Interesting bc you don’t even know who the other candidates would be yet… classic “remy knows best” comment lol

Jesus dude that was a joke.

If Caleb and Brown finish strong then I expect him to get an interview.

They were a national laughing stock.

If this didnt happen on national tv with like 30m watching it could have been swept under the rug. This has been the talk of national media for like the last 24 hours.

Yeah, Jimmy Johnson saying it was the worst coaching job he had seen in all his 70 years around football should have made an impression.

And Cowher talking and pointing out how Eberflus just froze in the situation, etc.

It was, by far, the most negative press from all the national media that I have seen against the Bears and a Bears HC in a long time, if ever.

And I would have fully expected it to continue today during pregame and halftime shows.

Hell, for the 2nd time this season, other HC's publicly talked about how they were studying Eberflus and his decisions as what -not- to do for situational football.

No,they noticed it was becoming a PR nightmare and made a decision based on that. He should have never been retained after last year but here we are doing the same shit we have the past 10 fucking years.

The reality is this was always the best time to fire him if you are doing it in season given it is a mini bye so Brown has more time to transition.

The kept Trestman because the relative success of the Lovie years was pretty recent history at the time. The game’s changed when you’ve only mustered one winning season in the last twelve.

That and I really do believe the stadium stuff played into it. The McCaskeys are in an existential fight for the franchise and they need to win public opinion in a way they did not expect.
I agree with this.

Matt Eberflus was simply not present at his job over the last month at least. It is not normal for a head coach to sit on the sidelines watching the clock wind down while holding a timeout. I feel bad for him that the Bears were so resistant to change that it had to come to this, where he is uncomfortably exposed as unfit for the job in front of everyone because the Bears insisted on the "tradition" of not making a change when so obviously necessary. He should have been fired long ago; last Black Monday in fact as the shoopster suggested last year. I'm sure he's a good man, and he indeed has enough money, so there's that. Good luck, fella . . .

Remember guys, the interim coach doesn’t have experience as a head coach. Don’t go out there expecting him to change it all up and do everything correctly. He’s just someone to take over right now. Now do we hope he’s that guy, of course. We will welcome it if he is bad ass. But don’t go in thinking he’s gonna be the savior and has all the answers.

Now I could only hope he a bit smarter than Eberflus. Some things can be fixed with just common sense.

Pretty sure Warren and Poles have wanted him gone for some time now. I'm actually glad they made him perform a job duty on the way out. Made him look like a dildo, which is fitting. Cold!

They didnt quit as evidence by the fact they should have won yesterday. That doesnt mean Flus isnt terrible.
Bears org fires flus the literal definition of quitting on a coach.

Bears players openly criticizing coaching from offense to defensive players openly criticizing game management.

Remy - well the bears played hard yesterday so ‘technically’ they didn’t quit on him.

Just take your L and move on.

Pretty funny they let Flus do his normal presser and then canned him three hours later.

(Also dysfunctional…. But I will take it )

looking forward to see Washington call the defensive plays and see how much better they play w/o being hamstrung by Flus. At least he has 5 games to show what he can do and prove just how bad Flus was
