The jersey must not have been selling well. Teams don't discontinue jerseys just because they stop liking them. There had to have been dismal sales for them.

Great match! I don't know who did what but it seems like Team D has vastly improved and the whole team stopped trying to be cute and started playing to win no matter what.

Further proof that Turco was never the problem (Even though the team seems to play better with Dr. Craw in net).

Great win!

Actually, no it wasn't....

From an affiliate of mine in Columbus, I've been told the players refused to wear them any longer... After being 0-4 in them, some of them thought it was cursed...

You know hockey players and curses....

Which is wy I'm kinda shocked the WC-style 3rd jerseys weren't discontinued by the 'hawks. The record in them has been less than stellar (especially compared to the Blacks).

That brings me to a good question... Whats our record in wearing those, anyway? Any idea from the past few seasons since they were introduced??

I believe you - but if those things were also selling heavily (i.e. $$$$) you can bet someone would have put up a stink when the players said they didn't want to wear them.

Agreed. Especially since Columbus will likely be spending the spring watching the playoffs on television, if I'm the owner I'd be pissed if the players, in addition to not winning on the ice, are also hindering merchandise sales by refusing to wear a jersey.

Do we have any actual evidence of them selling well other than Supra rambling about them?

Really, so you are basing this off or a marketing exec trying to save face with a jersey that's in a tailspin by saying....

Superstition or not, John Browne, the club’s new senior vice president in charge of sales and marketing, said Friday the jerseys have been “well received.”

“From our perspective, people have had many favorable comments about them,” said Browne, who added that the third jersey design was fan-driven. “From a business perspective, the sales have been very strong and continue to be.”

How about some actual facts to back that up? BAN! Turn in your mod sash with your AA chip.

That's like saying Chris Chelios was well received, and his appearance requests are very strong and continue to be.

So suck on that face monger.

Bingo, only a lot harder to stay in, although both may lead to improper situations with older men.

I was curious too and checked it, since they were introduced last year the Hawks are 8-6-0 in the thirds, add another loss if you count the Winter Classic.
