My favorite teams
Sounds like the Jonathan Toews of the police force.
So the Republicans are going to get angry that this guy was looking for a handout right? Dying in the line of duty means your family gets paid, just another welfare queen looking for a hand out right?[/QUOTE

Will there be apologies from some on this board to the BLM over the rush to judgement on this specific issue?
I think I read they are investigating the spouse and son for participation in the embezzlement scheme.
They are- It is being reported the DOJ is being brought in and they say that indicates his oldest son in the military is the target.
The 100 club, the onesthat give immediate 15k to survivors of officers killed on duty wants their money back. good for them.
the guy is looking worse every day. Kills himself and leaves the family to hold the bag instead of facing the music and keeping them out of it.
there are a lot of signs out saying "g.i. joke" out there today, and I have seen many of those rolling dumpsters at peoples houses with blue ribbon hanging out under the lid- stratecigally placed to show they are indeed in the trash.
(FOX LAKE, Ill. (AP) An official says an Illinois police officer who killed himself tried to arrange for a gang member "to put a hit" on a village administrator because he feared she would discover he had been embezzling money.
Lake County Sheriff's Office spokesman Christopher Covelli also said Thursday that investigators found packets of cocaine in Fox Lake Police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz's desk after his Sept. 1 death.
Covelli says investigators recovered deleted text messages in which Gliniewicz mentioned the possibility of planting something on the administrator, Anne Marrin, although he says they don't know if that's why he had the cocaine.
Covelli says Gliniewicz sent the text about arranging the hit to a woman last April, asking for help arranging a meeting with a high-ranking gang member. He declined to give her name.
You know better than that. **** BLM. They had nothing to do with this but all they do is cause trouble. Will there be apologies from some on this board to the BLM over the rush to judgement on this specific issue?

... I think you need to pump the brakes. I think it's far more likely that Fox lakes police department is understaffed and it was easier for him to check into it as it was probably nothing in his mind and he'd lose the perps. Maybe they saw his car and took off so he went too. There are a million scenarios more likely than him agreeing to be offed because of unrelated corruption charges against one of his bosses.
Pretty sure I was right on this. In gambling terms, you took the specific scenario of him agreeing to be cut down by someone else to maintain his pension for his family because he was part of the corruption of his boss. I took the field. The field won. He killed himself to avoid jail time because he was stealing, which was unrelated to his bosses corruption charges.[emoji38]

Yeah OK, 10 days after the incident I post suicide...long before the press even mentioned it.
But it's cool, just wish the police would have figured this out sooner.
More goodies-
Det. Chris Covelli with the Lake County Sheriff's office told NBC Chicago Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz sent a text message asking someone to contact a "high-ranking gang member to put a hit on the village manager." Gliniewicz also suggested the hit man could "plant something" on the manager, Covelli said.
"The tone of those text messages was to contact a high-level motorocycle gang member," Covelli said.
The person Gliniewicz texted told investigators the late officer indeed asked for a hit man to kill the village administrator, but the alleged motorcycle gang member denied any knowledge of the request.

That combined with the drugs in his desk certainly point to moving forward on the "plan".
Covelli also sent NBC Chicago Facebook messages from April 2 between Gliniewicz and an unknown person (unedited, in their entirety):
JG: Don’t have them anymore… being forced to retire by new village administrator Work life has ben a living HELL the last 2 months
Gliniewicz Faced Sexual Harassment Complaint Years Ago: Docs
JG: Close to entertaining a meeting with a mutual aquantance of our with the word White in their nickname…
