LMFAO. This is a business.

Exactly. If you have two companies making you an offer, you're probably going to go with the one that is going to pay you the highest salary. In this case, the Bears didn't even make an offer. You can't hate on him for leaving when the Bears didn't even try.

I heard Dion Simms loved the Bears. Apparently not enough to save his job.

Lol, at a kid thinking Amos owes the Bears any kind of loyalty. If the Pack was the best offer then you sign with the pack. Just like Josh Sitton signed with us when the Pack got rid of him. Get a grip children! This is not Madden. This is real life.

If the Chicago Bears means anything to you as a player you would never sign a contract with the fucking packers

Just to review the Bears did not mean anything to Jim McMahon or Steve McMichael.

Got it.

Would be funny if Bears sign Gipson, whom the Packers tried to get first, and were left with Bears leftovers.

LMFAO. This is a business.

YUP! Hell if the Packers called me up right now, and said they were going to give me a contract to sit on the bench and wear their ugly ass uniforms, Id do it in a sec, and I've been a Bears fan for 35 years!

You gotta get that money while you can!

Field Yates - "Source: the Bears have created $11M of cap space by converting $13M of Khalil Mack's base salary & roster bonus into a signing bonus. Chicago positioning itself to make moves if desired..."

Wow....Okay lets go then

Za'Darius Smith's deal with the Packers will come in over $16M a year. No way the Ravens were going to devote $33M a year to keeping him and Mosley at this point.

Yikes.
$16M for a guy that has averaged 4.5 sacks a season?!

Please, mod's unban Aaronitout. His bullshit would be comedy of epic proportions right about now.

#Bears have been maneuvering money around, freeing up cap space by converting some into signing bonuses. As @FieldYates said, it happened with Khalil Mack. They’re in position to strike with a splash again, whether that’s a signing or a trade.

Wonder if they'll spend for another kicker like Gostkowski

I doubt it. Spending big money on a kicker put them in the position last year where they refused to cut an underperforming player because of the money he was owed. My guess is we go with unknown guys/7th rd draft pick. Especially since we are still paying for Parkey.

I always liked Amos, but he was definitely one of, if not the least valuable player on the starting 11.

If you include the base nickel D as the starting 11, he probably was. No knock against him. But Goldman's a top 3 NT (could argue #1), Hicks is top 5-8 DT. Mack is the 2nd best defender in the league. Floyd is good, and plays a much more important position. Trevathan and Smith are both really good and probably more important at least in the Fangio D. Remains to be seen in Pagano's. Fuller and Jackson are all-pros. Outside CB and nickel are probably more important positions than SS, probably actually moreso in Pagano's scheme.

I can't see them signing another RB before trading J.Howard cause it would just hurt any value he'd have on the market if teams know we have our top 3 RB's in Cohen, Davis and Coleman, Ingram or Bell.

I really thought a great move would of been to cut Trevathon and sign A.Barr who can play ILB and OLB so he could of always been on the field at one of those two positions. Maybe we go after J.Houston, T.Gipson and a kicker with this money.
