The Bears interest in Jackson was probably to drive up the price. I can't see them making a move to spend stupid money on a player like that. Jackson is a great talent but not worth the money for this team.

The early numbers on Malik Jackson are 6 years 90 million/40 guaranteed

No way Pace could stay on the dance floor. That is a huge commitment.

Yep. Wouldn't want him at that price. Have fun Jacksonville, Malik!

Outside of Trevathan, the biggest nametied to the #Bears looks to be DL Akiem Hicks. Pace has history & will come much cheaper than Jackson.

Of course the Bears are picking too late to get Buckner.

Goldman - Hicks - Buckner. Would have been a really fun front to watch play together.

If the packers get forte and Bennett which then propels them to another Super Bowl Pace is an abysmal failure unless he creates a 3/4 year dynasty.

Especially for a player who isn't that good. I don't know how he became the prize of free agency but kudos to his agent. I have a strong suspicion he was more a product of that defense then he was the driving force behind it. The kind of signing that, in a couple years, will look baffling.

I wouldn't be so sure; IMO Buckner has been over-projected to date. Guys like Mayock who've been hyping him also said Timmy Jernigan was a top five pick...

It's such a weak draft class at the top, I don't see anyway he gets out of the top 10. Think there's a good chance he goes before Bosa. He's a much better prospect then Armstead was coming out last year.

I mean he'll certainly be retired by 35, he can spend as much time wherever he wants after that. If he can, he's going to a contender, in my opinion. The Patriots make a lot of sense from both sides.

Yeah i think he'll be either a Patriot or unfortunately a Packer.

So it's looking like Trevathan, Hicks, a corner and an OL of sorts

Any word on DBs for the Bears? I've heard Jeremy Lane and Patrick Robinson but they're more depth then locked in starters. Wonder if the plan is front 7 in free agency and DBs in the draft.

Plenty of good players in round 1 or 2 other than Buckner.

With DL Malik Jackson headed to #Jaguars, expect #Broncos to make a serious run at #Cardinals RT Bobby Massie.

Rand Getlin ‏@Rand_Getlin 50s51 seconds ago

Going to be busy for #Jets DT Damon Harrison. Multiple teams competing to land his first visit. They know it'll put them in pole position.

^heard Titans were front runners.
