How do you get a $90M deal but only $89M is guaranteed? Is the last million supposed to be an incentive of some sort?

Watching the McAfee show, I learned that the reported guaranteed money isn't really all guaranteed. Even the guys on the show were confused.

The Bills GM said that, while Josh Allen was reported to sign for 250 million guaranteed, it was actually 140 million guaranteed. The other dollars come in form of injury, etc. So, if Allen gets injured and can't play, then that extra guaranteed money comes into play. Otherwise, if he stays healthy, he will get his base salary/signing bonus etc. as normal.

Idk... it seemed confusing

I think Allen's contract is just rolling guarantees where his next year becomes fully guaranteed a few days after the start of the prior league year. So for example, his 2029 year becomes guaranteed a couple days after the start of the 2028 league year (I didn't look up to verify the years... just an example). Otherwise, there are injury guarantees, but that's only earned if injured. Or in other words, they can cut him and those go away. I think both Daniel Jones and Russell Wilson had similar, and that's why they were cut during the season.

I could have sworn you said Elijah Moore
I had both Moore's on my short list but Rondale was always the first guy for me and i think he'll come at a cheaper price then Elijah will.

Velus got a new job today. Signed with the Saints. I think they actually listed him as a RB.
That’s actually the position that makes the most sense for him. Sweeps, outside runs, etc. Put his speed to use while minimizing the liability his brick hands pose. Don’t have much faith even that will work out for him though.
