RB and TE arnt "major" needs. And im still holding out hope for Wisniewski and some RT competition.

There are a ton of needs on this team.

Yes, I'm not ready to say TE and RB are 'major, needs, but they are needs.

Bennett can't block for shit. Rosario Dawson is a bum. Zach Miller was a training camp stud, but got hurt, like he had before. Might be a camp body and you backfill him with some other team's cut in camp.

As for RB, it's a need and will be a major one next season. Forte is on the wrong side of 30 and his big contract is expiring. Not only to have a 2 back attack, but to have someone ready to step in behind him (my gut is next season is Forte's last with the Bears). Carey is just whatever.

RB may not be an apparent need, but it will be big.

Bennetts a good blocker, has been since Dallas, Yes we need depth behind him, as far as RB we see it year in and year out multiple backs come from the middle rounds-FA and make a big impact.

Yes. The moves that were regarded as some of the worst draft moves in the history of the NFL.

That is one example. We can provide countless other examples.

The Lions took Eric Ebron last year in the first. They needed a TE. Was he best player on the board? No.

The Jags took Bortles at 3. They needed a QB. Was he the best player available? No.

The point? It happens every single season. Teams draft for need and not solely 'best player available'.

But let's play a hypothetical - Colts have the 29th pick. Let's just say that Mariotta, for whatever reason, drops and he's considered 'BPA'. Colts have massive needs on defense and need to get younger at RB.

Since they have a once in a lifetime QB on the payroll, do they draft Mariotta since he'd be the BPA, or do they draft the best defensive player available to fill those needs?

Eric Ebron was very highly regarded as a top 10-15 pick and may have definitely been the BPA on the Lions board.

The Jaguars are a dumb organisation...not exactly the best example.

The Colts have a unique situation where they have a young elite QB but your hypothetical situation is ridiculous because an elite QB prospect is highly unlikely to fall that far.

If you also read my posts, I say that due to the amount of holes in this team, you can go strictly BPA because this team just needs talent in general.

The Bears need some OL depth, secondary depth, and could use another DL.

Adam Carriker, seems like he could be decent value at the 5tech. we still need some depth.
and I find it strange, we hvent really been looking at corner help.

Along the same lines, is DE Jamaal Anderson worth a look? I haven't seen anything about his veteran's combine.

I read some expert claiming that every 3-4 team that did not sign Anderson would be idiots, as he's "a lock to dominate as a DE in that scheme". I literally laughed. That guy probably didn't watch Anderson back when he COMPLETELY busted out in this league.

Ive seen his highlight reel a few times and watch him plenty. Every receiver with decent speed in this draft looks equally as smooth or more so.

Parker, Perriman, Coates looks equally as good at getting open and running with defenders. Even if Cooper is better is the drop off that great?

Strong and Becham brings NFL size.

Well I think Amari is the most polished receiver in this draft. 6'1" 190 isn't NFL size to you? He's a great combo of height and athleticism. He's also played against some pretty damn good competition in the SEC. I know I'm not going to convince you otherwise, but I think drafting Cooper would be a home run. Alshon and Amari would be sick. Two different styles that would complement each other.

Wisniewski and some Corner depth is needed.
Yeah Id probably go Wis and bring in Dashon Goldson at FS. Alan Ball or Tarell Brown would be great at CB if they come extremely cheap.

Aaron Leming - #Bears have signed CB Alan Ball to a one-year deal.
11:36am - 27 Mar 15

I really like the Alan Ball signing. Had some serious upside going into 2014 before his injury. Good fit at CB 3. #Bears

Don't care what any of the haters say, Pace is making some good signings and showing great patience for a first year GM and being the youngest GM in the NFL.

I bet pace feels like oprah. "You get a one year deal and you get a one year deal and you get a one year deal! Everybody gets a one year deal!"

One year deals are what the NFL is moving to, and has been the last 2-3 years now.
