So one of my good friends apparently found out that his girlfriend had a Facebook account eventhough she had told him multiple times that she didn't have one. On top of that, her page said she was single eventhough they were suppose to be in an exclusive relationship.

Wierd, my feelings would be the exact opposite. Status on Facebook wouldn't mean much to me, I'm not a jealous type. But being lied to on multiple occasions would end it for me. Not in "I hate you and never want to see you again" way either. Just graciously say I don't trust you enough to be serious about the relationship and move on.
