How do you know Jackson won't be good? How do you know that he won't be on the opening day roster next year? How do you know that Byrd will have been traded?

I am not assuming Byrd will be traded. If he is, then sure. IF he is willing to take a HUGE pay cut.

Yes, if Byrd isn't traded and BJax and Colvin live up to expectations, we won't have a need for Fuke. But that's not likely. I'm not disputing that he'd be a good backup outfielder. But where do you all get that he'd be willing to take a big pay cut?

Where does anybody get that he'll be taking $5 Million or less like CO suggested? Or if Jackson comes up and does good and wins a starting spot, will he come back to warm the bench anyway?

Never been a big fan of him he's to inconsistent. As far as pay anywhere from 1-5 million as a backup outfielder. Nobody is going to sign him as a starter at 14 million bucks a year

5 Million is too much for a backup IMO. I wouldn't pay any backup more than 3 Million.

Never said I was JH. But in no way does a bench player deserve 5 Million per year. No Way.

The difference is, Pujols deserves the money and Kosuke does not deserve his current salary and I'm sure he and his agent know that.

If the Cubs aren't willing to increase payroll it is pointless to get Pujols.
