For the most part, I agree. But IMO Kevin Weekes is a different breed. I think he's the best analyst out there right now. I do like EJ Hradek though too, considering he's never played professionally I think he has an impressive body of work and I think he's a smart guy when it comes to analyzing players/GMs/coaches.</p>

i think Pang is insightful enough. Weeks def is a different breed though--very good.

People like Engblom? I always think he sounds like he's talking to children with his inane commentary. Doc can sound exciting but he uses his own phrases way too much, "waffleboards it out", "knives it out", "DRRIIIIIIVES" and all that, sometimes he just strings together these phrases and it's annoying. I like Gord Miller on the CBC casts, I guess Hughson is alright when he's not calling a Canucks game. Also think Ferraro is one of the better commentators there are. Overall I enjoy the CBC broadcasts more than the NBC one. It seems the CBC crew picks up on more things than the NBC does and have cameras also following things that are happening behind the play and on a whole comes of as knowing more about the game than their American counterparts. As for the analysts I don't really care what they say, but Weekes does comes off as better than the usual rabble these guys do.</p>

Ferrero is horribly bias when working any Canadian vs American team esp if its Vancouver (where he walks on the seawall with his shirt off all the time like a greasy predator). Otherwise he can be more tolerable when he has no invested interest in a team and is wearing a shirt. Hughson can be okay, agree on the Canuck games though, but man he lets Healey talk to much. My fav guy on CBC and this is weird that I like him as far as panelist is PJ Stock. </p>

I think guys like Glenn Healey have soured me from most goalie panel members (if he can even be considered a goalie). Talk about an ego on that guy and someone who never admits hes wrong...and he is a lot. Weekes is okay though. </p>

Doc sucks. he makes up his own hockey lingo too much. There really are no good play by play guys out there on television. They all are on the radio. Once you get on television all the network executives kill these guys and turn them into stooges or their egos get to big and all they want to do is hear the sound of their own voices and make shit up that separates them from the other guy. Bob Cole is the only guy left on any television has has the voice for the game..but hes too old now and can't call a game worth shits without botching players names. Also too many guys on tv seem like they cant wait for a whistle to throw out some sort of bullshit theory or in the case of the CBC guys right now..talk about the penguins and themselves.</p>

I rank play by play guys on how they can make you see the game when you are not looking at the television screen. If a guy can make you see the play and the game in your head while not watching then thats a good play by play guy. It's why Wiedeman is so great. I want him on the tv but im worried that when he does get that bump that he will be ruined like all the rest of them. </p>

Don't get me started on the color commentators either. And there are waaaay to many guys involved in a game now. why do we need 4 guys yapping back and forth during a game telling their stories of "when i used to play the game" all while someone is in the studio reading fucking useless tweets? Hockey broadcasting has gone to shit. 2 guys in a booth is all you need. dont need idiots btw team benches and don't need 3 guys in a booth. 2 guys...that's it. Hockey is trying to broadcast like football and its fucking silly. Too many voices no one is watching the game on the ice anymore.</p>
