23 hits in 2 games for Bickell. And they aren't the garden variety stat padding hits

He's finally playing to the level everyone expects him to play. Good for the Hawks. Increases their chances of success in these playoffs, and makes it easier to trade him in the offseason.

And sure hope Hartman/McNeil/Braun are capable of his physical play

I agree, but it is what it is. If Bickell was making Shaw money, he would likely stick around. But he was pretty horribly overpaid.

I think between McNeil, Ross, Hartman, and Braun, they will be able to find some physicality. I really like Hartman's game.

Much different getting hit by someone 5'10 190lbs and when Bickell does it

Bickells 4million can be justified because he's the only one in the organization that can bring that size/force. I wouldnt doubt if mashinter is up next year

I wouldn't call it MUCH different. Some of the biggest hitters in the league are pretty average sized guys. Callahan? Brown? Clutterbuck? Kronwall? Hammer can absolutely destroy people when he wants to, and he's only around 200 lbs. Roenick wasn't a big guy either, and used to **** people up on a regular basis.

McNeil and Baun both have size. While Hartman isn't the biggest guy, he seems to be very strong on his skates. As you know, center of gravity and balance are extremely important when hitting. Knee bend, and being able to explode when you hit someone, do far more damage than size alone. Bickell isn't exactly a great body checker. He just has size.

He doesn't bring that size/force nearly enough during the season to justify his cap hit alone on that. There has to be something else he brings on somewhat of a consistent basis and there just isn't. Can't afford to have that.

Good crowd tonight. Good to hear some assholes get behind their goalie for once. Minni fans should however get behind of Dubnyk and **** punch his taint into shape.

40% of the "fans" left with 2 minutes to go. All the Twitter Crawford haters must not be buying tickets, because the Crawford love was strong inside the UC last night (and well deserved).
Wasn't much traffic to beat when you know which side streets to take.
Suter looked like he was Rosival last night. At least he got a point from the bench on the Dumba goal.

If there is anything worse than the Crawford haters, it's the over the top Crawford dick lickers

I'm on the side of playing the goalie that gives the best us the best chance to win. Right now that is Crawford. There are a few factors here:

1) Crawford was shit early in that Nashville series and deserved the benching.
2) Darling stepped in and was amazing. Won us 2 games in that series.
3) The defense did no favors, yes, and it appears that a "goalie swtich" is something that can wake up this teams defense and get their attention....As you saw when Q when back to Crawford.

I guess you would say I'm on the side of a Hawks fan, no matter who is behind the pipes.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Doc called it the "Warrior Head"

Doc got one thing right...this entire team shoots at the walls of heartache.
Bang! Bang!

Honestly, no real complaints overall about this one. Team D played excellent, the O was clicking, and Dr. Craw made some monster stops. Further, boglad both he and Hossa were alright after taking it on the chin.

Still a lot of hockey this series though. Can't get complacent like game 1, 2nd period.

So Crawford was shit early in the Nashville series, but Darling was good at the end of the Nashville series, and it was the D's fault?
