The only thing about Q thats starting to bother me is that he's getting very Lovie Smith like. We've seen the Hawks look good with an excellent gameplan, then the other team makes changes between periods and Q never seems to have an answer other than changing lines and Dman pairings.

Very good comparison to use. Lovie had his favorites as well, played them all the time, even if they were terrible. He also would bench guys that seemed to be on his shit list for no apparent reason...kinda like Stalberg. How much longer the front office will put up with Q will be questionable depending on what happens in this series. If the Hawks do not win this year, and have an early exit next year, I think you see Q gone, kinda like Lovie. I truly feel that Stan really wants his own guy in there...we shall see.

Maybe I had one too many Busch Lights, but I agree somewhat.

But, the Bruins proved they belong over these two games, I'm just hoping for a split in Boston.

After Pitt, I knew this would be tough. In all fairness, I said after the 3rd that the Hawks looked gassed....I didnt see anything in OT that would change that assessment. You get tired, you lose your speed advantage. I think thats what happened tonight, not much Q couldve done about that.

Other than having one of the fastest guys in the league on the ice tonight? Just sayin. Looks like Q is going to keep Bollig in for Game 3. Huge mistake IMO, especially considering that the Bruins will have last change.

Do you consider basketball a team sport?

Yeah but I'm not really a basketball guy so I'll let you guys fight that one out.

The point being that in every game, in a team sport, where there's been some call that was judged to decide the game, there were plenty of opportunities to make that call a footnote instead of the headline.

You can honestly say a ref or ump has never affected the outcome of a game?

Affected? Sure. Decided? No.

Look, you wanna ***** about the officiating, go right ahead. But in my mind, it's a defeatist's attitude. If you leave a game close enough that an official's call is able to decide the outcome, you did something wrong.

I hear you on that , but one so tightly contested? It could be the difference.

It never comes down to ONE play. I just don't believe that happens. Pick any "controversial" game, and there probably a few mistakes made that could've altered the outcome.

So what if the wrong call gets made in Game 7 OT, is it not the refs' fault if the wrong teams wins then because the team that scored first ends up letting another one in later after they should have already won?

I usually don't blame refs, and as I said, I thought the call should be no goal, definitely at the time, I still haven't seen the "other angle" spoken of, but throwing this out there.

What's done is done and there is no point in arguing the disallowed goal. However I watched the news after the game and they provided a shot of the puck crossing into the goal under rasks right blocker. This was way before the whistle. Either way hawks need to come out with intensity and win game 3 or they might be heading back home down 3-1.

CBC feed of the no goal last night. Not sure why NBC didn't show this replay right away. Clearly a bad call. Not saying that it definitely cost the Hawks the game, because you can never be sure what would have happened differently had it been called a good goal. That being said, given the fact that the regulation portion of the game ended in a 1-1 tie, one could definitely say that the final could have been 2-1, with the Hawks going into Boston up 2-0 instead of tied.

Bad call No call the Hawks dominated the 1st period then packed it in the rest of the game. Whats going on are they tired or what. I can't understand the difference between the 1st period and the rest of the game especially in OT who were those guys

You know, shit happens. If this was an isolated case, it would be understandable but this is the third time the Hawks have had goals taken away in this year's playoffs. All three times it was a bad call or non-call. That is unacceptable. IMOP, this is the only pro league where you see this crap happen so often on the league's biggest stage....and that includes the NBA. Why even waste our time with replays if you either cant get the angle you need or dont know what to do with it when you do? Im sure the NHL will find some complete bullshit reason why this was the "right" call...you can bet the house on that.

Sometimes the NHL is such a complete embarrassment.
