There are only two conversations I remember from that board: the way that place went insane on the day Bill Wirtz died (and the mods there snapping on people who were posting awful things because they said the Wirtz had family members reading those posts) and a lengthy conversation in the off-topic forum about "pie"

Give some credit to Q tonight. Made the swap with Kane/Hossa early on and putting in Rundblad also was a smart move at the end of the day.

Should've done both a long time ago. CBC was blowing Q, too, for putting Kane/Toews together when he should've done it a few games ago. Way to put yourself in a hole, by waiting 3 or 4 games to do, what Scotty Bowman would've done earlier in the series. Still win one more game and were in our third cup finals in six years.

I believe it was DMelt15. Big Ruutu fan.

doesn't ring a bell. If you were that big of a Ruutu fan, you would have been homies with Jako and I.

B. Boudreau is saying the Ducks lost their composure for the first time in this series after the goal by the Manchild. Andersen is clearly on edge. Hawks need to draw first blood in game #7 and take control.

Yup, that was the hope. Break their will early in game 7 and it's "here we go again" all over.

Once again we give the coach credit for doing what people have been calling for the entire fucking series???? Here's the world's softest fucking golf clap, for the Hawks' GENIUS coach, who listens to the suggestions of the message board warriors days after they post what he SHOULD be doing. Bravo Q. Bravo.

Again, this team wins in spite of him. It still remains to be seen whether or not his MASSIVE FUCKUP with the lineup in game 3 costs this team a shot at the cup. Saturday will either condemn him for his poor coaching in the last two WCF's, or the players will bail him out.

You were calling for Rundbland and Cumiskey all series? Or are you talking about the line blending?

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Nice win. 'hawks were cohesive and played smart for the bulk of the game. They also won in spite of the tedious interference of the officials--the way it's supposed to be done.

I expect a charged-up Anaheim team on Saturday. If the 'hawks come out the same I don't think Honda Center can contain game 7.

I've been calling for Cumiskey pretty much since the playoffs started. Rundblad sucks but the Hawks have no choice with Rozsival hurt. Timonen never should have been traded for and looks almost completely finished. So they either use Rundblad with his little bit of experience, Timonen, or throw a kid to the wolves. It's the lesser of the evils. Cumiskey has to play and probably should have been playing a lot more this season.

The top six needed to be shaken up. Hossa/Toews/Saad have had a few good games, but haven't been consistently good together for months. Bickell/Richards/Kane has been crap. Toews and Kane needed to be reunited. Shaw never should have been playing center, as we see how damn good he is at wing... Bickell needs to be off of the fucking PP, and it looks like that might have happened last night. I am pretty sure I saw TT out there on the 2nd PP unit in the final PP last night.

I didn't post all that much back then. Jako refers to Jakobeast, right? His name in all caps?

I think my name was DMelt15 ... may have been DMelt19, though, depending on when I joined the board. Was also a huge Kyle Calder fan.

It's easy to trash the acquisition of Timonen now with the benefit of hindsight, but he was still a damn good player last season. He was one of the better possession-driving defensemen in the league.

It was pretty easy to trash the acquisition of a 40 year old defenseman who hadn't played all year because he was coming off injury too... We were just all caught up in what he could be instead of what he was. A guy with nothing left trying for that last shot.

If the Hawks sneak past the Rangers he will also be the first guy Toews hands the Cup to.
