Probably not but the writing was on the wall, people just didn't care to notice it. She was always going to go full Crazy over her power lust.

They didn't notice because it wasn't developed properly. They had two years to write this season, and ended up putting out a rushed, subpar product. You can't write a character one way for seven years, only to throw it all the way over the course of a couple hours.

I'm not so sure about that. The burning of the Tarly's was one, and she certainly has always had the obsession with someone betraying her - whether that was the doing of the House of Undead or not.

Today wasn't something that has been culminating over the course of the show. It was all "I'm crazy mad now, lulz." They didn't show her properly descend into that madness. They tried to cram it in and bash our heads with it over the course of a couple episodes.

Well, we wil just agree to disagree then. this is D & D interpretation, maybe the books will play out differently. I will agree with you on one point, other than episode one, this season is the worst.

Yeah and in their interpretation, there was no actual redemption because the cuck returned to his murderous sister because he wuvs her.

And yes perhaps the books will actually take the time and effort necessary to show a better version of Jamie but in the end, D&D Jamie was a piece of shit that loved his sister more than he loved trying to be a good person. Dumbass should have just stayed in WF with Brienne.

It was simply stupid. She could have easily just attacked the Red Keep and Cersei in the tower and be done with it. Her rampage made no sense given her previous character arc. She gave the Tarley's the option to bend the knee for God's sake but now all of a sudden she gleefully burning women and children who surrendered?

Their writing is so amateurish. She just finished talking about saving the world from Tyrants yet her actions here were so tyrannical that there was nothing subtle about it. If their intent was to tell the classic story of the oppressed becoming the oppressing then that sort of descent needs to be done organically. Not just having Dany wake up and be like I am going to lie to all my advisers and burn it all to hell while still somehow expecting there will be no fallout.

If you handed this in to a creative writing class, this episode would get you like an F grade for betraying all your previous character development for no logical reason.

Here is the thing about this episode. The directing was fantastic. The acting was good. The cinematography was fantastic. And despite all that, it sucked because the writing was epically bad. Rushed is the keyword here. The whole season has been one huge rush job.

One of the things people are missing here, is part of the reason Dany is in a rage, is she realizes no matter what, she will not be the ruler, at least not the ruler the people want. I don' think people picked up on that in her conversation with Jon.

so basically, Drogon was the same and she didn't get a new dragon. So she could have done this same shit last episode. How does Cersei go from ordering the death of Jaime to all of a sudden wanting to die in his arms? what kinda bullshit is this?

Oh yeah Jamie still a *****. Went to save Cersei, LMFAO. Redemption my ass.
I bet he wouldn't have gone to her after seeing the Mad Queen attcking if he had known Arya was using up all the plot armor. There couldn't possibly have been any left for anyone else. I was hoping they'd stop showing Jon cause I knew there was none left for him.

No, I definitely got it. They made sure to lay it on real thick over the last two episodes. I don't have a problem with her losing it, it's how haphazardly it was done. I thought the episode itself was fucking gorgeous.

Literally makes no sense. War was won. Could have walked up to the red keep with no resistance.
Saw it coming from the beginning. Didn't you see in the intro, they made Dany look like she was going bat shit crazy. Then when Jon rejected her cause he didn't want to knowingly **** his Aunt, ya knew she'd be in a real bad mood.

lol

Holy shit, that was awful. Pretty sure the writers didn't want the audience to laugh through that battle but I was. It was just so hilariously bad.

[/QUOTE]Episodes 1 and 2 could have been truncated and merged as 1 and been great. This episode had all the makings of being great, was just made too hard to believe. They went overboard turning Dany insanely mad. Jon should have known he had to calm her, not reject her. And to be honest, they've made Arya annoying as ****. How did this frumpy little girl suddenly become harder to kill than Mountain? She really did nothing in the episode. Just there to survive being trampled along with collapsing buildings and dragon fire. WTF? IDK, maybe she just had to be there so we could see Hound save her again and then have her finally thank him and call him by his first name.

What, you don't like Dany literally completely, easily winning the battle for King's Landing and then just going "Welp, script says I'm crazy I guess? Better start slaughtering innocents."

EDIT: And I swear to fucking blue eyed baby jesus, does no one in Westeros know how fucking walls work? THE ARMY GOES ONTOP OF AND INSIDE THE WALLS. THE ARMY DOES NOT STAND OUTSIDE THE WALLS LIKE A BUNCH OF CHUMPASS DORKLETS.

That's the thing people were most pissed about last episode. She just kept smiling at Rhaegar cause his death had to be overly foreshadowed, then she flies off all butt hurt instead of taking instant revenge. I guess that wouldn't have made her look as crazy as killing thousands after the clearly dropped their weapons and surrendered.

Jon will kill her, of course. He actually tried to keep his men from attacking. Grey Worm will snitch but Dany can't do anything about it cause she loves him and Jon can't do anything but kill her because he is so righteous.

No it isnt. Plenty of other shows with better reviews from critics and fans.

Some of yall still in denial.
Yes because I form opinions based on what critics and fans say. You liked the last Jedi because of the critics’ reviews I take it?

I just want to know when dragon fire magically got enough kinetic energy to blow up a fucking castle wall. Not melt it, but blow it up.

Most of the army left and the dragon are fiercely loyal to her. I don’t see how they realistically remove her.
I was disappointed that the breaker of chains became the burner of children... seemed like an unrealistic change of character.

Maybe it will but not sure what that had to do with what I posted. I posted her reaction to being asked if she was satisfied with how her character end. Seems clear she wasn't. Not sure why we changing the subject to distract from the fact she appeared to not like the direction her character ended up.

That was last season where all bets are off fire.

I actually thought this was the best episode of season so far. Yeah the writing sucked but as previously noted the directing and acting were great.

My biggest gripe is Cersei’s death was way to easy and humane for that monster. I get that she was pregs but the fact that Arya didn’t get that kill was disappointing to me.

Dany's been a psycho. Didn't she crucify people, and kill leaders that were "against" slavery in Meereen?

I will give them one thing.... I will be genuinely relieved when this is fucking over.

I will not ask for more, and if they considered continuing the series I would beg them not to.

That is how bad this final season has been.

Next week I will smoke meat, and celebrate the end of this monstrosity.
