Hold up.....we're really slamming GarPax for not getting DWade when a. Denver, Detroit, Toronto, and most importantly - Miami wasn't willing to make the trade with Pax, and b. the biggest offer was Donyell Marshall?

Why is this clown allowed to post in this forum? Just fucking awful.

yet you're in here criticizing them for not making the moves so they would have max available come free agency

same coulda happened again they could have traded Taj for nothing and Melo re-signs with NY anyway....they were waiting on a commitment before making any moves

Something about this guy making sure the goal posts keep moving

yeah thats one of the many myths about the Bulls

granted i was like 11 years old at the time so i dont know exactly where that rumor came from and if it was true.....but i find it hard to believe Marshall would have stopped Pax from trading up

im more inclined to believe a team would have wanted Chandler or Curry who in hindsight you trade for Wade but at the time they were still young with a ton of potential

maybe one of the older heads on here can shine light on this subject

Do you mean that they were unwilling to trade Chandler or Curry for the Miami pick? That would likely have been true if Krause were still the GM, but I think at that point no one in the org wanted to move those two. They were supposed to be the frontcourt of the future and only just entering their 20s. Can't blame them that much considering Curry came off a season leading the league in FG% and averaging near 20ppg per 36 and Chandler was already establishing himself as a very good defensive player.

I'm more inclined to believe there's no way anybody ahead of the Bulls would have traded their pick, no matter who was offered.

The only team who really came up short was Detroit, but you're not trading with a division rival like that.

:yep:

Pretty sure no one wanted to trade down in that draft. Considering that 4 of the 5 top picks are basically shoo in HOFers, I can't blame them.

I don't think anyone wanted to move back to 7 if they were in the top 5. I remember something about that Marshal trade, but I am not sure accurate it was. NBA trade rumors have always been very speculative. I think assuming the Bulls had a chance a realistic chance at Wade may be assuming incorrectly.

The Bulls have not been great, but they have been better than average at picking when you consider when they were selecting. You will have a hard time finding 20 other teams that picked better, and that would put them in the top 10--considering draft positioning.

i don't know the facts but if a team was wiling to trade down logic tells me they ask for Chandler or Curry not Donyell Marshall

Yeah probably, but like what was said before, no team was trading down to 7.

Jay Williams strikes again...

Wow after just one season though? But I guess the chance of Melo/Wade/Bosh is worth it. That would've been a great trade. Though who knows what Jay could've been...

so they would offer Jay Williams+7 for 3

but refused to trade 7+Marshall for 4? yeah fuckin right
Kiki Vandeweghe would use the seventh pick on French two guard Mickael Pietrus and hand a big chunk of the team's cap money to Clippers free agent-to-be Michael Olowokandi.

Such fail that would be...lol Michael Olowokandi

Nostalgic seeing Arenas being talked about too...man Arenas could ball back in the day

yeah looking back on stuff like that can be fun to see how wrong/off ppl were about stuff

cant find anything on the Marshall trade other than ppl on forums bringing it up when discussing how much of a failure Paxson is

from my understanding Pax was extremely high on Wade i even heard that he told the media he was taking Wade

so i highly doubt he would say no to #7+Marshall....that sounds more like something he would have offered and Raptors declined not the other way around

Yup. Thus was born the infamous Arenas provision because he went and bolted to DC that offseason because the Warriors couldn't pay him or something.

Between him, JimJohnson, and Rondo's agent it's getting bad.

Oh great Adolphus........Educate me please oh great one. As you sit on the tower of babble, how can we mere mortals even approach your great intellectual acumen. YOu really have a very high opinion of yourself don't you? On what it is based, pray tell????
