2 PTBNL. Wow this could end up being a huge haul for a rental.

Strop alone may be worth Feldman. Calling it now he will be the next closer. Dude throws gas. Not sad about him. Other guy Arr what ever his name (don't care) sporting a 5. In Iowa. Not a fan. And Grimm is not talented. Feldman was not talented either but mastered a cutter and became serviceable. Grimm needs to take notes.

they didnt want to pay him what he wanted now, doubt it happens in offseason but you never know..

I cannot blame them for not wanting to go 5/100 if that is what he was wanting. You never know what he will get offered as a FA. If he doesn't get much more than what they were offering, you never know, he might come back if he really wants to play in Chicago like he says.

Mike olt and CJ edwards are the key returns..

PTBNL are ???? until we know who they get..

Grimm is basically a hope for the best, with a change of scenery. he 24 and they have control through 2018
worse case besides a bust is he becomes a reliever, best case a 4 or 5 starter ( future trade add in )..

I totally agree, and like i said in another thread id find it hard to believe he will get both yrs and money that he looking for..
i think he will get something close to 4 /60 and if that the case then yes its possible the cubs if they want him back can make a play for him..

Some of the articles state that Ramirez might still be one of the PTBNL. They evidently have a list of possible candidates already in place. No idea on the other level of prospect.

So, these prospects are going to be top 100.

Baez, Soler, Almora, Bryant, Alcantara, Olt, and Edwards. 5 of our top 10 players have legit 30 plus homerun power. Somebody has to stick!

PTBNL will be either one or two pitchers, says GM Hoyer. #Cubs

They are stating that it depends on the caliber of player that they choose on whether or not it is one or two.

Just heard two things on trade..

1. the cubs had to take Grimm over Odor because the Rangers raised issues over Garza elbow

2. the PTBNL is 1 or 2 depending on who the cubs select and hoyer said it will be a pitcher.
my guess is their first choice will be neil ramirez if his return from DL is good ( starts first game on friday )
if its not him then they will take 2 lesser players in return.

On the PTBNL. Depending on the quality 1 or 2. So could be 1 very good one or 2 meh. On Cubs com if u want to look see. Think at this point would rather get 2 RH arms that are ok. Better to have more darts when it comes to lottery tickets. There is no sure thing.

Source that Edwards stock has risen that much that he's a shoe-in for Top 100? I wouldn't doubt it, but was wondering if you heard this somewhere.

Could be more than just those 7 too, Johnson could make it and if 1B prospects didn't naturally have lower stock, Vogelbach would even have a chance.

I believe the Cards had the most in the league with 6 last year, and we have that at the absolute bare minimum.

Though there really isn't a huge difference between 75-ish and 120-ish sometimes, so being in the Top 100 as opposed to the unlisted next 20 plus isn't always that meaningful.

John Sickles has him ranked in the mid 70's and it seems the consensus is he is going to be on the list.

Without the 2013 picks though, so he may end up slightly lower depending on his 2nd half this season. But damn, 7+ Top 100's now even after Rizzo graduated last year.
