COMMIE! They should be able to artificially inflate prices to rape the public on a product in our society that is for many people a need and not a luxury.

I know, right!?! I love unfettered capitalism! woohoo

American Capitalism = price your customer out of the market then file for bankruptcy, find some sucker investors, then start over and do it again!

I just don't get Obama............. I really do not. Gas prices are nearing record highs, more then double since he took office three years ago and what does he do yesterday? He demonizes the gas and oil companies and the profits they are making. Yes folks, that is his answer as to how we are going to lower costs in the time of a recession. Again he was spouting green energy as the answer as if it is magically going to happen tomorrow.

As I have asked before, who can tell me what his energy plan is?

In case you missed his press conference

Why are we giving so much federal assistance to big oil when they are reaping dozens of billions in profit?

Ok IHF, what is your solution to the gas price problem?

The reason Obama is attacking the profits of big oil is because they arent selling ipods.

They are selling a product most american's cant do without. I cant put gas in my car I cant go to work. They shouldnt be able to essentially charge unfair prices like this when it isnt an issue of supply and demand, to hell with the speculators, the fucking speculators are wrong all the time. Were getting charged 4.60 a gallon for what? for a "potential" supply issue that will probably never happen, and oil companies simply enjoy raping people at over inflated prices with no additional expense incurred to themselves. Over this problem thats never going to happen. Oh and then when the precieved issue blows over and didnt become a problem it takes like a year and a half for prices to go down to what they were(if they ever go down that low again), when it takes like a month for them to shoot up 2 bucks.

Obama's mantra of attacking capitalism and class warfare has never changed. This is just another example of it. An industry that is doing well and employing tens of thousands (go look into North Dakota as a perfect example) and he wants to tax them more. Even though in theory it is not a "tax" by taking away subsidies he is getting additional revenue of them and I consider that a tax.

AGAIN, is there anyone blind enough to think taking away some subsidies is going to lower the price at the pump? Are people that stupid?

There are legitimate things that can be done which are never addressed and maybe you have not heard of us talking about the commodities markets as the first place to go after.

They have good lobbyists.

We need to get our own lobbyists. Ton let's get some lobbyists. get the website subsidized for millions, you take 50% and the mods split the rest

I was downtown today and saw that, in fact, gas prices are still ***.

5.13/gallon for the super premium or whatever on the north side.

6/13 - 2008 Average gallon of Gas in the US was 4.12.

From 3/20-2007 to 6-26 2009 the average gallon of gas in the US was just over 3 dollars. Nearly doubled? So it's 8 bucks a gallon?

1. “They [OPEC] want to go in and raise the price of oil because we have nobody in Washington that sits back and says you’re not going to raise that f—-ing price, you understand me?” — Donald Trump (April 2011)2. “I figured out Karl Rove’s political strategy – make gas so expensive, no Democrats can afford to go to the polls.” — Sen. John Kerry (May 2004)3. “President Obama must announce today in his Nashua address that he is firing Secretary Chu and replacing him with a pro-American-energy appointment. If he doesn’t, then the American people will know the president is still committed to his radical ideology, which wants to artificially raise the cost of energy.” — Newt Gingrich (March, 2012)4. “You’ve got Donald Trump saying don’t pay OPEC $100 for the oil. Just tell them you’ll give them $50. Really? I go into Trump’s hotel, it’s $1,000 for a suite and I say I’m not going to give you that, I’ll give you $200. I’m on the street looking for another place to sleep. You can’t tell them I’ll give you $50 when the world market is $100. It just doesn’t work that way.” – T. Boone Pickens (Feb. 2012)5. “We went into a recession in 2008 because of gasoline prices.” – Rick Santorum (Feb. 2012)

6. “I can get you a gallon of gasoline for a dime. … You can buy a gallon of gasoline today for a silver dime. A silver dime is worth $3.50, it’s all about inflation and too many regulations.” – Ron Paul (Sept. 2011) 7. “Since the president has been president, the cost of gasoline has doubled. Not exactly what he might have hoped for. … He’s said it’s not my fault. By the way, we’ve gone from ‘Yes, we can’ to ‘It’s not my fault.’ Well, this is in fact his fault.” – Mitt Romney (March 2012)

8. “Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price
of gasoline
to the levels in Europe.” – Energy Secretary Steven Chu (Sept. 2008) 9. “The next time you hear some politician trotting out some three-point plan for $2 gas, you let them know, we know better. Tell them we’re tired of hearing phony, election year promises that never come about.” — President Barack Obama (March, 2012)

That was Obama's fault too. Gas was $2/gallon in January 2009 only because Bush lowered them so much as a going away gift.
