I'm not saying I agree with any or all of these decisions/reasons, but some of these are easy:I’m still trying to figure out why we got rid of Hino and Suter for Tyler Johnson. Or Danult for a rental. Or Teuvo. Or Panarin.
Danault was traded for playoff rentals in Flash and Wiese.
Teuvo was moved because the Hawks were already undersized and TT couldn't survive as a 3LC. Also, and more specifically, he was moved as a sweetner to jettison Bickell.
Panarin was traded for Saad, because (people seem to forget this), he couldn't play anywhere else in the lineup other than with Kane. Bowman traded for Saad because he was perceived to be more of a swiss-army knife (PP, PK) who could win board battles, compared to Panarin.
Suter wanted too much money. Good player and would have liked to have kept him, but it wasn't feasible. Plus we had the poor-man's version in Kurashev.
Johnson was brought in for center depth and face-offs. I still have hope that he can be a solid piece eventually.
Hino: I don't remember and I don't really care, he's a dime-a-dozen player.
