It is encouraging to see Dempster throwing a gem, but then I have to remember that he isn't exactly throwing against a major league lineup (yesterday doesn't count since they didn't have major league starting pitchers oppose them).

The guy isn't worthless. He isn't good enough to be a regular starter, but he can be useful as the guy at the end of the bench.

I was gonna ask if anyone knew what his pitch count was. I figured it had to be pretty low, as he had a lot of quick 1-2-3 innings. Needless to say, 78 through 8 is outstanding work.

if ONE guy gets on...Dempster should be out...but I don't think we have anybody warming up...Quade doing what he can to screw up something good.
