The streak is in danger with Castro striking out to end the sixth. He ought to get another plate appearance and likely won't have to face a top reliever given the score.

Castro grounds out to the SS to end the streak at 11. Unforunately the only interesting thing left to watch tonight is to see if Rodrigo Lopez can get a higher ERA than Davis.

Carlos Pena is a fucking man.

The rest of the team blows.

Carlos Pena has played himself into perhaps the biggest bat available at the deadline. He isn't as good as this stretch of play indicates, but I am hoping that he can keep the batting average up for the next three or four weeks because we might actually get a huge haul for him.

So Vogelsong who is probably the odds on favorite to be comeback player of the year gives up 3 runs in the first two innings and 6 before the end of the day. Zito who is coming off the DL and has an ERA over 6 has sat the first 6 batters down. wtf?

I think this hot streak is threatening to push it from good to great, especially if the Cubs pick up the deferred money.

Lou Montanez with a blast for the Cubs. I wouldn't have been shocked to think that I would be hearing that in 2011 if the year was 2002 or 2003. Too bad that it is his first homerun for the Cubs as a reserve OF and not as next A-Rod that some predicted when he was drafted.

That call is iffy, I honeslty don't know. The runner did not hit the ball out and Geo was not taking ball out.. He had it in his glove for more time after, I think he should be out but tough call. It's a sac fly, error on Geo and a bad call in some people's view. I don't know if it was or not. Coulda gone either way.

To me it looked like Geo was sarting to reach for the ball but his hand was no where close to his glove when the ball popped out. I think if he didn't have the mitt it would have made a tougher call, but I think it was the right call. I don't know if you can call that an error on Geo. It is a play that should have been made, but it was tough consider the contact.

This is probably the only time I'm annoyed that the Astros suck harder than the Cubs. We'd seriously be in line for the #1 pick if the Astros would start winning some damned games.
