Good read on Goff and others.

What interests me about Goff and Lynch is that the Bears do not need to rush them onto the field. They both could sit behind Cutler for 1-2 years and learn.

Not ready to start is not as big a deal for the Bears as it is for Houston or Cleveland.

Half the fanbase thought it'd be a good idea to start Hanie over Cutler. Could you imagine if we had a first round pick sitting on the bench when Cutler throws an INT?

I'd prefer C.Cook on the bench for 3 or 4 games, and take over for the next 10 years!!!! JMHO.

im not as familiar with Goff, haven't watched as much of him....but Lynch would have to sit behind Cutler for a year or so to learn some things. I live in Memphis and I promise you he is not ready for NFL level defenses yet. he does have all the physical tools so I get the love, but sophisticated defenses will eat his lunch still

I think Goff has all the tools to be successful in the NFL, except the build! I can't see this guy making it through 2 NFL seasons alive, or, at least in one piece!

hmm seems to me if you could combine goff and lynch youd have a great prospect....individually maybe not so much

The Tribune doesn't let you view that article without registering. So rather than waste the 10 seconds it will take for me to register, I will just complain about it here, even though I probably could have had it over and done with by now.

He's already gained like 20 something pounds in his time training part time at Cal; I doubt he'll have an issue putting on another 10lbs before the combine/workouts when training with the best in the world and living at a training facility/eating engineered meals/shakes.

He'll be a much bigger man by the time he steps on an NFL field.

Nothing new. Next article is a nice affirmation of Pace and his moves. A fluff piece but still a nice take.

Exactly this, as a huge big ten follower Cook is being sleeped on. He's probably the best qb to ever play at MSU and this is coming from a Michigan fan who's wife went to MSU and is a huge follower. He's a winner, 31-3 as a starter. 3-0 in bowl games including Rose and Cotton Bowls. He's been making great throws to where the receiver can only get it, NFL throws.

MSU also has tons of injuries on their line and he continues to impress. MSU also doesn't check it down to their running backs much so his completion percentage isn't great but he also has barely any turnovers because of his NFL throws. He's gotten way better this year at not locking into his targets. He doesn't just throw it to Burbridge who's there number one guy he spreads it around.

If Cook and MSU beat Ohio State and make it to the final 4, mark my words he will be the 1st overall pick or at least first QB off the board early in the 1st in the draft.

yeah, fans can be kinda impatient, but how about this: how about, in order to shut fans up, Jay stops throwing it to the other team? how about that?

[note: i realize Jay has been playing better, as of late, but there is 9 years of pretty solid evidence saying this performance is not sustainable]

This is a great class if you're looking for a future backup quarterback. A starter, not so much. Goff and Cook will be over drafted by at least two rounds.

We should tell other QB'S that too

well, it's more of a frequency of INTs with our franchise QB. others do turn the ball over, just not many do it with the frequency, generosity and care that Jay does (or has done and evidence shows will do)!

Goff isn't going to sit for long.

If you are taking Cook or Goff they are not likely to sit long as they will both be high picks and in today's NFL you don't draft a QB top 5 or 10 to ride the bench unless you want another GM and HC taking your job.

Cook has grown on me every time I watch him. True gamer who shines when the lights are bright and makes plays when his team is in need. Hackenberg has also grown on me and while I don't see him going as high as the other two I like his potential as much or more.

Lots of interesting prospects from the first to the later rounds.
