Power upside, but he struggles putting a bat on the ball.

We weren't going to get high level prospects anyways, but i am glad they got him off their books. Prospects, are just that, prospects. They could work out or may not. There is still a lot of development for all these guys, and with new coaching, it could sky rocket one of their careers. Just like in the Mark DeRosa trade, i doubt anybody was excited about Chris Archer when we first saw the name, but he turned out pretty good ever since he came into our organization.

About Burgess-

From Ben Balder of Baseball America-

New Cubs RF Michael Burgess: big raw power, big arm strength, even bigger swing

From Jon Morosi of FoxSports.com-

Scout who knows Burgess says he has strong build, excellent throwing arm, and good raw skills. Struck out a lot last year.

I'll cut him some slack,he's just gonna be 22,and how many guys are polished by then, speaking of course about position players. I had hoped for a 1B prospect in any deals Hendry makes. He certainly has enough prospects to move, the only danger I see is moving the wrong guys.I'm still not happy about Lee in the Garza deal no matter how the Cubs spin it.

I have a draft crush on AJ Morris this year, what's your take on him? He fit in the 3rd-5th round area?

That's about right. Morris has had a terrific season for Kansas State, consistently showing a low-90s fastball and a good slider. If he had more of a changeup and was a little bigger, he'd be a potential first-rounder.

From a sportsnation webchat. Got to like the fact that he could have been a first rounder if he was taller. They said the same about Roy Oswalt.

Sammy Solis, on his teammates at the Nationals instructional league camp: "It is absolutely ridiculous. I've never seen so many power arms on one team before, and I've played on some elite teams. A.J. Morris is my roommate. I saw him throw for the first time the other day, and I was blown away. He sits [at] 93, 94 miles an hour with a nasty slider - I mean, it doesn't get any better than that. Robbie Ray and A.J. Cole, those guys are 18 years old and they're just as good as I am. So it's pretty ridiculous to see how good these guys are, and the potential that the Nationals have."

So far so good. Both guys have upside.
