Did everyone miss that the goal is that 1 in 7 of the cars sold 13 years from now would be electric? I don't see anyone forcing anything. Again technology has a tendency to improve. All I see is reactionary ZOMG GUBMINT TAKIN OVER! whinging.
Yeah, this is where it starts. Where does it end though?
It's like the "temporary tax breaks".
Give them an inch and.....
This is not an overnight thing. It's a project that will take 13 years. Things change. Maybe gas will be so expensive by then that people will be lining up for electric cars. Overreaction of the highest order.
Me and IHF dont agree on most things, but with this I can kind of see his point. If I had the money to pay out the ass and deal with limited facilities, id get an electric car but I dont, and the government trying to force me to would just fuck me. I am all for improving our environment and limiting pollution, but this really isnt helping anything and furthermore, its merely trading one type of emission for another as now you are using more electricity.
IHF, I am really curious how you imagine Finland to be, or any social democracy for that matter (I'll let you in on a secret, social democracies are capitalist countries). It seems to me you imagine it being some sort of oppressive regime where all citizens are brainwashed slaves to the state with no chance of freedom.
