I believe you're referring to Quenton Nelson. He & McGlinchey lined up side by side were one helluva OL combination. Wish the Bears could sign both of them. They'd open up holes for Jordan Howard same way they did for Josh Adams at Notre Dame. But, admittedly, I'm a Notre Dame homer. Still, even if they could pick up one of them...

You need quicker technically sound guards usually.

But i like the Hire hes coached up some elite talent.

I thought that is why Slauson was cut since he was a poor fit for zone blocking and getting to the 2nd level (which is true)

or that ND guard. Don't you need great guards for zone blocking?

The fleet of foot guards, not the people-mover guards. Nelson is a people mover suited for a power running game.

Can't say he did much developing fir the bears oline but had few options too. And the chance with Chris Williams stunted as he was hurt.

But with good veterans he had good olines, and Garza was a guy who improved in his bears tenure under him.

Also to note, KC has a huge offensive line. Makes me wonder if that will be replicated in Chicago, especially with Hiestand coming to town.

Hope not since the Bears have the better Oline.

I like how this is developing. Has anything been decided on Fangio yet?

Interesting question then. Can Leno fill that role at Guard if they draft that Tackle from ND?

That would be an interesting choice for OC. Lot of experience with the RPO and uptempo offense at the college level

If they could pull Helfrich, be a very interesting match with what he used at Oregon, and what Nagy used in KC. Trubisky would be in hybrid offense of what he did well at NC mixed with WC principals
