501(c)(3) is the IRS classification for tax-exempt organizations.

Obtaining that status will make it a LOT easier to get sponsors![/quote]

Just got an e-mail about the event at Gaelic park on Oct.17. Gonna contact them for vol work that day...Awesome place for the event, if you have a chance you should get your tail over here.

Just curious, have you contacted the Hawks about this event to possibly get more advertisement for it and maybe some alumni involvement? I know it's a long shot, but it would be worth a shot. If it didn't happen this year it could possibly set the stepping stones for the future.

Just a thought.

Re: Have A Skate With Bob, Chicago!

My appologies folks but I will definately not be able to make this event. I will be in California for my honeymoon where we will see the Hawks and Ducks play, and maybe LA (not sure yet).

I plan to drop the Innaugural trophy off at Cathy's office at Arctic sometime before the event. If you are all interested I would be happy to motivate the set up for another game in the spring. I say motivate because Cathy helped with the planning by about 60% to my 40%, maybe more ;)

Pete:

Good news and bad news on that...the bad news is Cathy's going to be leaving Arctic sometime in the near future. The good news about it is that she's doing so to go full time with our company (she just got tired of seeing me work until 1 a.m. every night), but she'll still help out with whatever Klemmer needs (and Lord knows he needs a lot). As far as the trophy, PM me...we can set up something at Fox's or maybe Rock Bottom brewery for a transfer.

Re: Have A Skate With Bob, Chicago! UPDATE 8/7

I have received my 501 (c)(3) approval from the IRS today, and am actively soliciting sponsors for the games in Chicago and in KC.

If you or your company are interested, please drop me a note at skatewithbob@gmail.com

Also, many companies will match your contributions to Skate. Please check into that..

thanks!

We have 8 from here and 2 goalies- please start talking it up amongst your teams!

I'd like to have 13 players/side.

$50 tax deductible donation to PanCAN gets them in.

Klem, I'm sure as we get closer to the event and the season picks up we'll get more members signed up.
