I'm sorry I could not make it last night. Again, for the little I knew of Tom, I'll always be able to remember what he started for me when I talk to all my Blackhawk friends...

There were a bunch of pics there from the pick up game back on February 20th, 2010. I had totally forgotten, perhaps with reason, that he was in the middle of treatment when he played that game. Getting 2 goals and an assist or few against Klemmer, he still wasn't happy. He wanted that hat trick. He skated circles around most of the guys on the ice, most of whom were half his age.

He always was smiling, but for a few of those pics as he was all business. Any other picture was lit up with his smile. Many familiar faces were in those. Some who don't come here anymore.

I would love to do another pick up game. Maybe even do it for PanCan, in Tbird's honor. I think it would be a fitting tribute to Tom.

He was great in that game!

If we play again, we could all wear #57 jerseys.

Maybe even get that beatoff RK to lace 'em up.

Never know.

It was a sight to see several of us walking around with name tags last night. We were all Beatoffs!

Im struggling for words. I miss my friend, but he will be remembered in a special way soon. Why did he have to drink a beer that's so difficult to brew?

If someone would teach me to skate, I'll play in that game. Proud beatoff.

I guess it's not so much as teach me as it is I don't have any equipment and have only skated twice so I would be worthless and my body would probably not hold up.

Just use one of those orange construction cones to keep your balance and play defense. You'll be fine. Probably should wear a #5 jersey as well.

Wasn't that a disclaimer from your proposal to your wife?

The games are pretty much non contact, and you could probably get away with just a helmet and some shin pads. I can barely skate and have played in 2 games, both of them pick up games.it's a great time.

Alright, I want in this time.... my nameplate will say RK, HF50, Moron Fan, or Bookjones, because I think it would be sweet to be a smart blasian lady... and I know I'll get all kinds of run at.
