I like the ones that get put in their place. Shut up then yelp about it and make up a totally different story then what happened. Im sorry you and your table ate 99.9% of your food and now want it taken off the bill because you didnt think it was hot enough while you sat there for 20 minutes snapping pictures of your food.
I am all for comping if valid, but when it comes douchebaggery. Ill take the yelp hit.
Had a customer order a sheet cake, custom decorated. Keep in mind, the tops of cake boxes are clear so you can see the cake. A few days later same customer comes in with a small piece of the cake left-over. They came to service desk, I was called up. This is usually a bad sign as the two people they went through before me had over 50 years experience in the store. They wanted to “talk to the owner”.
So, I ask what was wrong. The cake tasted fine, in fact very good. But the color blue wasn’t what they expected and they wanted their money back on the entire cake. I asked them why they didn’t bring up the color when they picked up the cake, the top is clear, they could see the cake then. We could have done something then as we had a cake decorator in the store when they picked up the cake. In fact they signed for it.
Finally I go to the “What will it take to make you happy” quit wasting our time bit. Nothing. They want the entire purchase price back. I agreed to give them the money back on what they didn’t eat. They told me to **** off and everyone lived happily ever after.
