My BIG problem is I love Chicago food. Pizza and beef sandwiches. That's a HUGE hurdle for me...**** a pizza sounds good....SEE!!!

So have 2-3 slices, not the whole fucking thing.

Hun, has it become that bad that you are like the Cratchets?

I had to google "the Cratchets" and I'm still not sure.

Spagettios get old after a while though.

Hun, you know Bob Cratchet and his family from A Christmas Carol. They couldn't afford any food on what that bastard Scrooge paid him. Their turkey was more of a Cornish Hen. My mom could fatten you up. Homemade chicken and noodles or cabbage roll casserole. Meatloaf and cheesy potatoes.

Your stomach doesn't shrink, rather the amount of calories it takes for you to feel satiated does.

Also, if you dont want to change what you eat, there is no substitute for rigorous exercise.

That is why I gained weight after i got out of the Army. When i was in I ran every other day, in between I would do strength stuff, no wieghts, just shit out of the Army regime. Pushup sit up pyramids shit like that, leg lifts, If only I had a sand pit to low crawl in. I ate ALOT, and didnt gain any weight, just because of the exercise. When i got out of the army, i said **** exercise, and maintained the appetite, bad combination.

But supra, alot of it all comes down to willpower. There isnt any easy solution. You have to dig down and find a reason worth changing and dedicate yourself to it.

I know it gets annoying, we all have that friend whos thin as a board, doesn't exercise and eats like a moose and never gains an ounce.

I was at my buddys house thats like that, went to play some NHL over his house after he got off work, and the mother ****** scarfed down 2 jacks pizzas.

If you know anyone with any of the Beach Body workouts, they usually come with a diet program and a special one you follow the first week as a jump start. It will give you the food tiers and show you which foods are best. (P90X, Slim in 6. Turbo Jam etc)

I didn't read the whole thread, but one of the best suggestions i've heard through the years is to keep a journal of everything you consume. Exercise is obviously #1 but force yourself to be conscience of the calories you are eating, set a daily goal and try to stick to it. Write down everything, not after not a summary, everything, when you have it and in as much detail as possible. The funny thing is that one of the things they found was that some people who committed to doing this, found that they were eating so much that it got to be a hassle to write everything down all the time, so they stopped eating as much because they didn't want to take the time to write it down. I would suggest figure out your target calories, write everythign down, and do as much exercising as possible. And when I say the last part I mean, try to work it into your everyday life since so many of us can't find the time. Walk the long way, clean the house better, things like that. Stuff you are already doing turn them into exercise.

My ex who didnt even need to lose any weight to begin with now shes a twig, got a profile on spark.com its free its like a facebook for weight loss it has like a calorie counter, a built in food ledger (has a data base that knows the calorie content of ALOT of foods)to manage what you eat and other people doing the same thing so its like a support group.

My goal limit so far has been 1200 calories a day. Although frequently I fall short of 1200 and have only been consuming 800-1000. I probably shouldnt let that happen because, intaking too few calories can be bad for you. Your average fit male should be consuming around 2000-2500 calories a day and actually the more you weigh, the more calories you require to maintain body weight, thats why REALLY fat people can drop like a person in a month of dieting.

Wish You Were Here
1) Reduce your calorie intake to 1800/day. For more impact on your cholesterol profile go on a low fat/low cholesterol/high fiber diet. I'd recommend an "exchange" based diet like weight watchers or Ricahrd Simmons if you can't/won't count calories on your own.

2) No regular soft drinks or fruit juice. No fast food or eating out. Prepare your meals, take your lunch to work and reduce portion sizes.

3) Walk for exercise. Its cheap, don't have to buy much equipment and readily available to everyone. Try to walk at least an hour each day above your normal activity. Make time for it, even if it means giving up internet or Xbox time. If you have to, walk in 15-20 minutes increments throughout the day to get that hour in.

4) Water and lots of it.

5) The formula for weight loss/weight gain is simple. Excess in calories = weight gain. Deficit of calories in = weightloss. Don't fall for the hype of magic diet pills. Save your money for buying healthy foods.

6) Don't try to lose the weight in a month. You didn't get to 300#s overnight and you won't get it off that quick either. Shoot for 2 lbs a week. You'll probably lose alot in the 1st few weeks (5-10 lbs a week), but it will slow down after about a month. Thats the point when most people break down and go back to old habits. Try to stick with it.

Hope that helps.

Your head is probably spinning from all this information. Just try to find what works best for you. Give yourself some kind of incentive like when you reach a certain goal you can get something special like a new toy or video game. I'm sorry you said you play video games all the time and I keep getting the vision of Cartman and the gang playing World of Warcraft except your mom won't bring you snacks and a bedpan.

losing the weight is not overly complicated. you need to do something easy like buy an exercise bike, probably a recumbant, and peddle the **** outta it for an hour a day. stop eating all that dickhead food. drink water, eat low calorie meals/snacks. it's as easy as reading labels. you wont like it. i guaruntee you will like losing the weight though.

start today, not tomorrow.

i'm almost 31 and i've been taking simvistatin for about 5 years. i'm not a fat ass (5'10, 170) but if i dont i will probably have heart problems before i'm 50. never met either of my grandfathers, both died when my parents were little kids from heart disease. my dad already had a triple bypass and he cycles 50 miles a day for 20 years. i know that if i dont take care of myself i'll be fucked. i dont need any more motivation than that. very rarely do i eat something that you would consider "bad". i read EVERY label for anything i eat. i drink water religously. i play hockey 3-4 nights a week and ride my exercise bike 6-7 hours a week.

bottom line, it's a commitment. how bad do you want it? get out there and show yourself how bad you want it. don't wait, start right now. internet forum talk is cheap.

Stilts? I know I could wear **** me heels! Clear ones even

I dont know maybe thats been one of the reasons youve been striking out. I know plenty of women arent fans of shorter men. Then again, my brothers only 5'8 and has had all kinds of ass, granted he beats them and impregnates them.

All of this is great, but the one I'd stress as well, especially since you've said you don't like it, is the water. Lot's of water helps more than you may think. Studies have show that people who are dehydrated have hunger urges. So instead of drinking water and hydrating they feel hungry and eat, and the real problem isn't addressed.

I hate to say this, but I would wait till after the holidays to start hard core. It's a good time to start thinking about it and applying it, but if you try to start cold turkey right now you will more than likely fail and be down on yourself and not try again for awhile.
