I literally think it would take Carlos Boozer, the Bulls 2014 1st round pick, Bobcat's protected pick and Sacramento's protected pick plus Mirotic to get the deal done.

We are talking about a top 10 player in the NBA right now. So people might think it's too much to give up but for a guaranteed top 10 player in the NBA, that's the price you would need to pay.

He DID play college ball @ UCLA, albeit only for a year...but I think that's what the poster was referring to.

Yes, he was born in Santa Monica but at age one his family moved to Oregon where he spent most of his life. His influence in teams (UCLA and Lakers) more than likely came from his parents. My point to the reply of the original poster was his influence of where he wanted to go would not be based on the fact he was from Cali but his fandom of that particular team. I think if he decides between the Bulls or Lakers, the determining factor would be either play for the team he rooted for as a kid or playing with one of his best friends. I don't think he has any other sentimental ties IMHO to Cali so it could be a closer decision than many think. Cali is not a guarantee.

I hope you're right so that he doesn't have some random reason to pick LA over playing here with his buddy DRose. :)

Even just the thought of how much fun Rose, Love & Noah would be to watch shoots this kind of a trade to the very top of my want list. haha

A core of Rose, Love, Noah, Butler, Taj & maybe Snell if he keeps improving sounds great. Time will tell how interested either side would be, but we as a fan base are all practically in favor of adding Kevin Love.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was too vague in my initial post of Love & Cali.

I still don't see how the T'Wolves wouldn't seek every single asset we have for Love at this point.

Boozer (whom I guessing the Wolves would amnesty and save almost $8.4Mil), Butler, rights to Mirotic, '14 Charlotte 1st Round, '14 Bulls 1st Round, Future protected Kings 1st Round and '16 Bulls 1st Round and I'd make the Bulls throw in Teague and take on Kevin Martin with Love....which the Bulls would do anyway.

While I would do this if I were the Bulls and I'm not sure the Wolves would- that is a heck of a lot to give for a player who is leaving after '14-'15 anyway.

If the T-Wolves don't trade him, he's leaving when his contract ends & there will be no compensation. The T-Wolves lose power everyday closer to next season's trade deadline.

Teams will not get into a bidding war if they know ahead of time that he will not extend his contract with them. The moment that Love drops word that he will only re-sign with Chicago, GarPax will be in the driver seat. This will be just like the Melo situation when he was traded from Denver to NY.

I don't disagree and I believe the Bulls would be near the top of his list heading into this off-season. However, if the Bulls wanted Love- they'd have to deal for him this off-season as he could just potentially sign with the Lakers in '15 FA period.

We'd have money in the '15 FA session, as well. Carlos Boozer expires after next season.

The Bulls are in a great position right now. We have tons of assets for any trades this/next season & also money for the 2015 off-season if we don't make any trades.

The Bulls owe over $42Mil to Rose, Jo and Taj for 2015...there is no way they could offer Love the money he will seek in 2015 FA as it stands right now.

The salary cap should be around $59 million by then, I think.

If we're in a prime position to add Kevin Love at that point, I'm pretty sure that Taj would be sent packing anyway.

If our cap '15 cap situation were our '14 cap situation and Love was a FA I'd say there was could be some validity to that, but we'll have to add pieces/salary within now and the '15 off season that would eat up even more cap.

The time for us to get Love would be this off-season and probably the only time IMO.

The Bulls should wait until Love becomes a FA. Giving up picks and players for him at this point wouldn't make sense. Same for Melo.

They don't have enough cap room to sign Melo or Love as FAs....they'd have to deal for either one of them- and there is no way the Knicks would actually agree to a sign and trade in where they'd send Melo to Chicago.

I pretty much agree with you, bro. I just think it's gonna come down to the trade deadline later in the season.

Kevin Love will not make it to free agency. The T-Wolves will trade him to recoup a few assets......just like we kinda did with Deng.

Do we know if there is any relationship between Mirotic and Rubio? I'd have to think there would be Spanish ties there.

They are familiar with one another, but I'm not sure how close they are.

I've argued in the past that pairing Mirotic with Rubio would be appealing to both the T-Wolves FO and also Mirotic's/Rubio's handlers/camp. It would be an international match made in Heaven.

Definitely would be a very appealing part of the trade I'm sure too. Good call.
