Quebecois french is pretty much the equivalent of Ebonics to France french. there is so much slang and short forming/merging of words that I can't understand a lick of it. my cousin, who lived in Quebec for a number of years, was trying to explain some of it to me, but they doe some outrageous slang there. they take 3 works and reduce it down to a single syllable, and people understand what the hell they mean... a person from France and a person from Quebec would never be able to communicate with each other.

I'm trying to imagine you rockin' those big giant chains and a grill, lookin' all gamgsta and actin' all badass, sittin' in a hot tub with a bunch of mostly naked nasty skanks. zippin' your credit card through their butt cheeks and then everything goes black and I'm blind.[/quote]

Do you mean the crack between the butt cheeks or actually through the butt cheek, bri?

Cajun French in Louisiana, too.

the term Zydeco (Cajun roots or folk music) comes from the French "les haricots" (English translation = green beans).

Go figure!

see, that one I can actually understand... i guess I absorbed enough concepts from my cousin. if you say Zydeco and les haricots fast enough you can tell where they dropped/shortened a syllable and merged another one together.

Cher, I have always found Cajun French and patois to be completely, utterly indecipherable. I just like to think of them as having their own "secret language" club. . .ya know, like folks who insist on speaking Esperanto! :)

Yes... yes you do. After what I saw in the fetus thread.... wait. No, we are way too off topic as it is, and I'm too lazy to bust out my ebonics translator.

Ever see INCUBUS (1965) with William Shatner?

It's like a Bergman film, only in Esperanto.

The trailer states it's the the only full length feature

"shot in the artificial language of Esperanto."
