Help Wanted: Ebonics linguist/tranlater.....

Okay, technically, I think Ebonics is not a language, but dialect. I'm sure Quebecois is the same--a dialect.

I'd be inclined to agree, just like Bicol, Cebuano, Chavacano (Spanish creole), Hiligaynon, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Kinaray-a, Maguindanao, Maranao, Pangasinan, Tagalog, Tausug, and Waray-Waray, are all dialects of the phillipines, but Tagalog is the main language that is taught as "filipino".

Unfortunately, yes. Nevertheless, your, "It's like a Bergman film, only in Esperanto." is hands-down the best film summary EVAH for it! In the future I really don't think it should be explained as anything but what you said. . .except maybe adding "bad" before Bergman. :lol:

I like Bergman, but for many folks (the unwashed masses, riff raff, hoi polloi, etc.) "bad Bergman" is redundant.
