Slow the roll on the Hossa worries. He isn't going anywhere, as Bowman has stated... Toews, Kane, Hossa, and Keith are the foundation of the team.

Im prepared to lose some good players due to salary cap constrictions. But Hossa's cap hit is not bad and he has such a complete game. I mean value wise, Buff makes 60%(ish) of Hossas money but is only 30% of the player that Hossa is.

The other part to take into consideration is how easily the player is replaced. Kyle Beach will step in next year and do all the same things that Buff does for cheaper. Plus, he'll continue to get better. The Hawks have plenty of guys who can be that large ass in front of the net that Buff is for about 20 games per season. His trade value is extremely high right now.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
I doubt Hossa goes anywhere.

Im not sure about Beach yet. But Brouwer did what Buff did for most of the season.

Bickell has the proven ability to play Buffs role... Beach will step in next year, but definitely not in place of Buff on the first or second lines.

Proven is a strong word. Bickell had some good games in that role though.

The scary thing about next year is that Buff, Brouwer, Bickell, and Skille are all pretty inconsistent players. And Beach is still a question mark.

Personally, I like Brouwer on the first line more than any of the others.

Couldn't agree more... my only question is, do the coaches trust him enough to put him on the first line?

Well he did the job very well for several months of the season. Much longer than Bickell or Buff.

Definitely, but when he had one off shift it seemed he missed shifts following.

Yeah I would agree with that. Well at least we have a good group of guys to compete for that spot. Should be interesting.

I think Brouwer really had a great season, unfortunately that situation with his father being sick definitely affected him, you could tell his game was off in the post-season. He scored 22 goals while kinda switching off between the 2nd and 3rd lines, you put him on the 1st line and I bet he can pot around 30.
