Would Poles have been on the Bears radar without the rule. Think he went through a few GM interview cycles before being hired?
Yes....because he was asst gm for a successful org. for 10+ years

Honestly don't think Eddie thinks much of it or he wouldn't have shown up. Bears needed to go through this so they could get their guy.
Surprisingly it's the guy most here wanted so I don't quite understand the angst that interviewing Eddie George caused. He got his start here with the internship program and likely wouldn't be at TSU without it.

Now he's on the radar.

And folks, you thought the bears would screw up, but they got the guy everyone says they should.

Good, it got his name out there, which may lead to a better job

This is Eddie George. Get his name out there? My 7 year old daughter knows who Eddie George is. He doesn't need his name out there because it's already out there.

Conner McUpanComin from Southeastern Lafayette School for the Blind Eastern University needs his name out there. Not Eddie George.

What circles do you think he runs in? Pretty sure if a 7 year old girl knows who Eddie George is, then football coaches know who Eddie George is.

What do you do for a living?

No he wasnt AGM. He was Executive Director of player personnel and only for 1 year. Before that be was AD of player personnel. Mike Borgonzi was AGM so Poles got a job before the 2nd in command to the Chiefs GM. Rooney Rule for the win.

Runs in circles that don't have him in the NFL...and getting the opportunity just to go through the process is good exp and puts his name out there...word of mouth. "Hey, Eddie George, did great in interview...he was impressive." Word travels

Exactly. People acting like Eddie George didn't know what this was are clueless. Eddie did this for one of a multitude of different reasons. The rule itself is a joke, and insulting to minorities.
Not sure it's still needed but it actually helped when initiated.

Got this funny picture of Eddie George sitting at his kitchen table whispering ‘I feel so used’.

I’m glad we got the #1 guy from this hiring cycle. As for George, I think you got some facts crossed. He didn’t get his start here in some internship program. After he retired and was inducted the the HOF, he went back to school got his degree and tried a few business ventures which failed, then tried a few reality shows and his wife got him involved in some sort of motivational speaker for minority business owners I think it was called MVP Club. His son, Eriq was a Div 1 RB for Tennessee State. The athletic director really has been pushing the football program to grow and hired Eddie George as Head Coach for 400k/year to help attract kids from the Ohio Valley conference to Tennessee State and their 75 year old stadium.

BTW this year was Eddiee’s first successful year in his 4 years in the Ohio Valley Conferences winning against both Eastern and Western Illinois, but they were shut out for the first time in teams history against Tennessee State :(

That was 4 years ago, but Eddie did participate in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship for the Chicago Bears this last offseason, and that is how the Bears have his contact to rapidly produce the qualifying Rooney Rule to make the hire for the HC.

WTF. Did he or did he not get on the NFL coaching start here in Chicago?

And BTW, since you published his Wikipedia, you left out his stint on broadway.
