Poetic justice - Hub just inoculated Rodgers and made him a shoe in for MVP with his forced mea culpa by the AP. Would be hilarious if the vote total comes up to 49 this year.

Hub is an idiot and continues to prove it every day. Nice to see such a petty asshole take a blow torch to his waning career

Good for Hub for apologizing. It was the right move.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
What does this have to do with a guy making over 30m a year to play a game misleading people about his vaccination status? Comparing Rodgers to people living under an oppressive socialist state is like the people that compare NFL players to slaves.

No one demanded papers from Rodgers. He was free to play in the NFL without being vaccinated just like hundreds of other players. You trivialize what people that actually lived under oppressive states went thru when you try to claim Rodgers situation is similar to theirs.

You are basically right wing Colin Kaepernick with the NFL players as slaves comparison being swapped out for Rodgers as an oppressed victim of an authoritarian socialist state.

It has a lot to do with it.

Slippery slope and all.

You realize how ignorant you sound when you are talking to someone who has seen what's at the end of the slippery slope, while all you've seen is 2 inches into the beginning?

My point wasn't to equate the two, it was to point out the nature of dissent in an authoritarian state for those unfamiliar with what people under those circumstances will do. Forging of documents is a common occurrence for dissenters who would face retribution for not conforming with state-sponsored mandates.

The NFL has a two-tiered system that treats unvaccinated players more harshly than vaccinated players, as Rodgers pointed out in his interview. Treating the unvaccinated as second-class citizens again has parallels to fascist and socialist authoritarian states, where "the science" justified treating certain groups as second-class citizens. Or in many cases, as animals with no rights whatsoever.

I'll take 'right-wing Colin Kaepernick' as a compliment. If right wing means liberty, privacy and an emphasis on individual rights and responsibilities then yes, I'll wear that label.

I don’t think lying about vax status falls within the responsibility part of “rights and responsibilities” bit.

So, you can have it both ways?

meaning what? It's not a right-wing pov that an individual's responsibilities include complying with authoritarian policies that reduce people's liberty and privacy

I asked about “responsibility”. A responsive person does not lie about vax status during a pandemic. His personal “liberty” does not include defying league safety protocols.

I don’t want this to get political, Rodgers was wrong, he is a self absorbed ass, but also very arguably the league’s MVP.

vaccination status has no bearing on the safety of others, as it's clear by this point that the vaccines don't prevent transmission. 95% of the NFL and NBA is vaccinated yet players and staff are still catching and transmitting it. There is no right-wing requirement for individuals to compromise their own principles for the public good. Acting altruistically for the public good is not a right-wing concept at all. That sort of collectivist attitude is inapposite to individualism. Appeals for individuals to sacrifice for the public good are something you would more often see in collectivist authoritarian states, like fascistic or socialist ones.

Aaron Rodgers is towing the line between open dissent and compliance, which is a common and understandable thing for dissenters to do. Not everyone wants to get on their soapbox and make themselves a target. Not everyone has the integrity of a Kyrie Irving to follow through on their principles to the point where it harms them financially/socially/legally. This is the dilemma people face when they're compelled or coerced to do something. It's a very familiar dynamic to anybody who's lived in an authoritarian state.

Vaccinations have always been required. I needed to prove my vaccination history in order to get a US Visa as well as in order to attend UNC-Chapel Hill.

So forgive me but your post appears to exhibit ignorance of the fact people have always required vaccinations for certain activities. Unvaccinated players can still play in the NFL. If I did not have the necessary vaccinations, I would not have been able to come to the US nor attend UNC-Chapel so the the NFL is quite lenient in reality.

Hub is no more credible than the average CCS poster.

Its been a rough couple weeks for Hub the scrub to say the least ???
not rough enough. He's been awful in recent years and been front lines in dumbing down the Bears fanbase in the hyping of Ryan Pace and all of his overrated players.
