Sad, the devastation was incredible. The amount of water is hard to put into words.

And just as bad, on the nuclear side of things they are saying that one of the nuclear reactors completely melted down even melting through the bottom of the containment vessel.

What all that means, I am not sure but it sounds horrendous.

Currently the Fukushima incident is slightly worse than Three Mile Island, but far from being anything like Chernobyl. As far as I understand the radiation found in the seawater is the isotope I-131, which has a half-life of 8 days so it should be gone within a month or two and the sea will of course dilute it further.

Japan is asking Russia for help. They want to use their special boats they use to decommission subs I guess. Outfitted with radiation equipment that could be helpful in the cleanup.

Today they are reporting that the radiation levels in the Ocean are higher than they thought. Not a surprise.
