This is what i talked about before the season starting as the ideal scenario. You don't want the Packers anywhere near one of the top QB prospects for a while, but you also don't want them entering the year as favorites to win the division either.

Imagine if you said a couple years ago that Goff would be handily the best QB in the division at any point. You would have been laughed out of the room, but that's the reality of the situation right now. Ben Johnson's got a heck of an offense built around what Goff does well.

They might have to tag him, but then again, with top QBs getting quarter-billion dollar deals, his tag price will be astronomical. If they let him walk, yes, Goff will be the best QB in the division and the Vikings will be shaving at minimum a TD off each game.

What makes Ben Johnson special is not that he has a unique "system". In reality, what he did with Goff is sat down with him many times, got Goff's input, and designed a system around what Goff did best, all the time listening to Goff's input.
