If we are going back and forth on where Kane is better, then it is win win. We all know how good he is on the wing, and if he is just as good at center, then all the better.

so far, I'm all for leaving Kane at center until he proves otherwise.

I like Kane at center. It is a no brainer. I think he will have a career year centering Hossa barring an injury. I won't be stiriiing that argument. Just saying some people can't let go of the "Kane needs to play wing" idea.

Olecz to this point, hasn't done much to show me he deserves more than 4th line minutes. Necassary evil of unloading Campbell's contract.

when has he had the chance? He looked excellent at camp, but it's hard to look amazing getting 7 minutes a night. Bickell has been hitting lately, but seems whenever he has the puck the goalie has a target on his chest that Bryan is shooting for. Don't break up the Bickell-Bolland-Frolik line, but what has Bickell done to deserve PP time?

Gone to the net? Played injured during the playoffs? Stuck up for his teammates on the ice. Potted 20 goals last year?

We are going to be arguing Kane at center vs Kane at winger all season.

If what we see from last night continues, I'm fine with Kane centering Hossa for a long, long time.

Me too. Others won't let go of Kane has to play wing with Toews.

With the Hawks being 3 solid lines deep, it will prove problematic for away teams to get the matchups they want.

As far as Olesz is concerned, it seems like he's going to be the odd man out. 4th line or press box.

I'd rather see Stalberg in the lineup.

I'm going to have to agree with the others here, let Pirri play and get better down in the A. He's not going to help up here on the 4th line for 10 minutes a game. From the looks of last night, CBH line isn't going anywhere.

Olesxcxzxcczx and Montador have been the most disappointing to me so far, with Montador taking the top spot only because I didn't expect anythign from Ollie only hoping.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
With Kane's play at center i'm comfortable leaving him there. He and Hossa are working. Much like Bickell/Bolland/Frolik, it ain't broke so don't fix it.

The #2LW does have me worried. I admit I was only able to see the 1st and the last 15 mins of the third yesterday, but Carcillo looks lost on the second line to me--like he's playing far out of his depth. I'll give it soem time but I'd rather see Smith, or based on the fact that he *actually* showed more than skating ability in the preseason, Stalberg a try there. Right now that seems like the weak slot in the lineup so I won't expect someone to fill in perfectly, but whoever fills the slot the best, be it Smith, Stalberg, Carcillo, Olesz, or hell, even Meyers.

We are only 3 games in to this season. Lets see how this all plays out. As of right now, the Hawks have scored 10 goals in 3 games. Yet have allowed 7. That last number has to stay put if the Hawks want to work in the post season.

I like the offensive lines right now. Leave them to gel. The D corp need to help out the goalies and not allow the offense to just camp out in front of Crawford and Emery.

It's the same thing with Brouwer. Q is going to look for certain things in Olezs's game while he's on the ice. If he doesn't do those he's not going to get ice time. And you know I question Q quite a bit. In that aspect I don't. Especially when you use Brouwer as a comparrison. You see what Brunette has done in the last two games in front of the net. Had Brouwer done that he'd still be here.

I didn't notice Olezs at all last night. If he wants more ice time he has to be noticed for more than the High Stick.

D always or typically always starts out slow. Espcecially when you are adding two new line mates. THey will tighten up faster that TCD on a hot date.

See I disagree. I thought carcillo looked great out there with that line. Just missed potting a goal from a great Kane pass. He opens up the ice for Kane and Hossa by well, being carcillo.

Hands down the best line on the ice for either team last night. Which is why they were double shifting at times.

They're not "dates" TCD is on....they're clients. Johns.

And agree with Brunette - they guy is smart and makes a lot of little plays that makes his line better. The only prob/issue with that line right now, is Sharp getting in "game shape" - after missing all of pre-season. Brunette is as smart as it comes without the puck, and he'll find his niche on that line after playing together.

you have to remember, Lord only saw the 1st and 15min of the 3rd. All the stuff with Carcillo was mostly in the 2nd period when the Hawks took it to the Jets.

Yes, the 2nd line was the best the Hawks had last night. They were firing away and had a lot of chances skating up the ice together. Kaner and Hossa crossing the line is amazing to watch.

Also, it would have been sweet if Carcillo could have poked that puck into the empty net on that rush up the ice...but the defender had him covered pretty well. So, for a skater to keep up with Kaner...not to bad on his edges that Carcillo is. I can't believe i am saying this crap about him when i wanted this guy under the Zamboni two years ago.

I figured the Hawks would come out slow, they were off 5 days. Emerys first was soft but the other two, not so much. 2nd was tipped right in front of him and the 3rd was a cluster **** from most of the Hawks on the ice that couldn't help him either freeze or clear the puck.

He made 1-2 EXCELLENT saves near the end of the game to not allow the Jets to tie it. One was a GA 15ft in front of him.

Actually the first two goals were deflections right in front of him. Don't hold him accountable for either of those since the D man should have had Slater tied up.

I have no problem with Emery as a backup to Corey.
