black mirror has a couple episodes that are duds, but most are really good and a few are fucking phenomenal. If it didn't click with you, I would suggest giving it some time and coming back to it.

That was an odd show. I'm a bit of an explorer (and Franklin) geek.

I just like jared harris, and the composer for the show who died. Liked the atmosphere but the writing was kind of weak, I guess. I either hate or love black mirror episodes, although first and third episodes of season 1 worked for me very well

American Vandal Season 2 was 10/10 hilarious. Highly recommend.

I feel like she had a hand in helping him become Saul Goodman. She had him help her do shady stuff

She did- She came up with the idea to get his buddy out of trouble, she suggested they do something like that again because she loved the thrill of it.
But it looks like she only wants to play dirty on her schedule.

That show has great writing and great direction.
Jimmys woman comes across as a raging type A personality that is conflicted about her fetish for scamming and her disdain for scammers when she isnt in the mood to play dirty.

Mike is tortured by what he is doing, but does it for his grand daughter anyway. An honorable guy doing a less than honorable job for honorable purposes.

Fring is a great character- Plays a meek and straight laced business owner on the outside, yet is a cold, calculating sociopathic sadist underneath. The lengths he went to to leave Salamanca alive in the state he is in was pure evil.

We know how jimmy ends up, but to see him do his best to be an upstanding self made man and make his brother proud only to be cut down from every direction is a sad story.
The Damage his brother did to him was far more evil than anything Fring or Salamanca has ever done.

Hell- they even managed to make Nacho a sympathetic character.

Great stories all the way around.

Watched a bit of the Haunting of Hill House

The acting and dialog are so fucking bad. So bad, that I am confused like I am missing something or some shit.

Seems like the plot might be pretty cool, but goddamit the acting and dialog are so awful I am completely distracted. The black lady telling the story to open the first episode is like some housewife at a community theater workshop. So awful. And any time a kid on the show opens their mouth, everything is ruined. I don't even blame the actors. The writing is bad and for all the kid parts its just fucking terrible.

This shit has a 9 on imdb. So I don't know. Maybe I'm not in the right mood or something.

Yeah, I watched more of the Haunting of Hill House. I'm at episode 5 or 6 now and my opinion has not changed a lot.

The story is pretty good. Engaging and suspenseful. Pulled me in. Strong creep vibe to me. Its my favorite kind of scary - not big scary monsters tearing shit up or whatever, but more subtle shit that is just outta place at the edges. Some jump scares, but more about being creepy, which I appreciate. Some effects here and there are bad enough to be distracting but whatever.

The dialog is terrible tho. With the adult actors, its just awkward and jarring now and then. But the dialog for the kids is so fucking terrible. Like laugh out loud/cringe. Its really too bad cause the show pulls you in, then they have a scene with the kids or adults trying to be emotional or heartfelt and you squirm from cringe or burst out laughing and it breaks all the tension and pulls you out. Seems like the actors are mostly doing their best with shit writing (except for a couple of the kids that are terrible).

Overall, show is worth a watch imo. Its entertaining, just a shame the dialog is so bad. Its bizarre to me that a flaw this glaring makes it through production.

100% agree one of the worst shows I didn’t last after two episodes

The first couple of Black Mirror eps. were dry... but there also a few that will have you wondering what the **** you just watched.

Yes! My buddy picked the eps for me to watch, including The Waldo Moment (animated bear), and I was blown away. Very riveting stuff.

A horror fan of mine gave it 10/10. I'll check it out. It's written and directed by Mike Flanagan, and I like his work, particularly Hush and Ouija: Origin of Evil.

I'm a little hesitant to watch The Haunting because I read TV series description, which is different than I hoped. The original novel (Shirley Jackson), and the original film "The Haunting (1963)", center around a Dr. Montague who hopes to find scientific evidence of the existence of the supernatural. And it appears the TV series doesn't have that at all, right?

Still, if it's actually shot in the real Hill House... it's a stunning house.

By the way, is a TV series like The Good Place something you just wouldn't watch? It's not a sitcom with a laugh track, though there's certainly some situational humor. I thought the first season was something new, and what I like best was how they really started changing things quick as it went along (where most series do the opposite).

I finished watching Haunting of Hill House.

I hesitate to call it good, but it is very much compelling. The story is mostly great. Characters are good with clear motivation, if sometimes one dimensional. Acting is generally adequate, though occasionally terrible. Except for the kids. They are fucking awful. Dialog is sometimes laugh out loud schlock. Especially when they try to get sentimental. Writing is occasionally terrible. But the story is good and kept me engaged and anticipating the the next episode. Lots of unexpected turns that were earned.

Definitely worth a watch, especially during the spooky season.

Decided to go back and watch SNL from the beginning. A lot of it doesn't hold up. Chevy Chase is also painfully unfunny.

Designated Survivor is worth a watch. Halfway through the 2nd season. Good mix of political drama and action.

I really liked The Tick and am looking forward to the second season. Watching the Americans right now. It's holding my attention so far but ...
