I predict Snell will be the breakout player for the Bulls this year!

He is a more natural scorer than Jimmy Butler. Jiimmy had better be shooting right now. I know this is summer league but you can just tell that Snell has put in work. That jumper is butter now. He looks diffierent and I don't mean the haircut either.

One can hope, but summer league stats don't mean a whole lot...

I saw potential in Snell early last year, but he disappeared in the 2nd half of the season, while Jimmy showed potential just about all of his rookie year and did well his second year before dying last year.

It depends how loosely you define "breakout". His shot has gone in. He will not be playing against summer league defense though. He had a lot of wide open shots in the half court. I don't think the Bulls are going to get him those type of looks. It would be great if they did though.

If Rose is anything close to his old self Snell will get plenty of open shots.

Not like these two summer league games. The defense has been awful. There were shots where he was just standing there wide open and the defender did not even pretend to close out. There were times he caught the ball and the defender was 6 feet off him defending. Even bad NBA defenses are better than that. Good ones will far different.

This kind of prediction is amusing. If someone guesses right, they claim full credit without hesitation. But if they're wrong the people incorrectly making the prediction do some combination of claiming they were being "a good fan" and go at others for being negative or bad fans.

You are right it, is far easier to think all late round picks will fail, since that is what the odds tell us, and then come around and say "see, I told you so. XXXX player was never any good and a bad pick." I mean that is far more amusing.

Who's doing that? In the absence of this actually taking place, you have no point.

idk if he'll breakout but he should get some more minutes...which I also think will help Jimmy improve too since Tony should be taking some of Jimmy's minutes

I agree with the OP, you can tell that something is different with him, and the doo just symbolizes it, imo. He looks stronger, bigger, and much more confident to me. The kid is a stone cold shooter, and I think he's ready to show you ******* that.

While the enthusiasm should be tempered as this is summer league play, it is an encouraging sign so far. Let's hope he can carry this into the season as he will have a bigger role off the bench this year. The breakout star I'm prediciting is our new rook, Dougie McBuckets. This guy can score in bunches and effictively at that. 31 points on 12 shots last night. That's impressive.

If you can comfortably shoot from 25 feet, you can ALWAYS get open. When I see in Snell is possibly the one guy who has both the natural range and the athleticism to create off the dribble to complement Rose. Snell is a LONG 6'7". Butler has the athleticism but even last year I've always felt that Snell was a more natural scorer. It is just a prediction, we will see.

BTW, McDermott is a lottery pick from the best draft in years. McD is expected to be at least decent. Snell is a wildcard.

One haircut and the guy's mister big time.

I think if he comes in stronger and does well in practice leading up to the season he becomes the back up to Butler. That could depend on if McDermott shows well at the same time, he could take more minutes at the 3 while Dunleavy shifts to the 2. The pre season games you see aren't even going to tell the story of who gets minutes, Thibs focuses on what he sees in practice which you and I see none of.

He's already better. But is it enough?

Let's wait and see how he fits in with his role against the NBA's best talent, before over-hyping him. I'm excited to see how he's evolved, but I'm not going to put all that weight on his shoulders and give him more pressure from fans than he is ready to take on.

I like that Tony has been playing aggressively and looking for his shot. Sometimes I felt he deferred too much last season. Hopefully he can carry this over to the regular season.

I predict Snell will become a slightly below average player that a lot of Bulls fans will overvalue because he hustles.
